Summary
The first body Itadori Yuuji ever sees as a rookie homicide detective is already cooling in a Shibuya alley when he ducks under the tape. He’s supposed to be learning how not to contaminate a crime scene; instead he finds himself assigned to Fushiguro Megumi, a permanently sleep-deprived detective with an emotional support scowl, and dragged into Gojo Satoru’s chaotic little corner of the Shibuya Homicide Unit.
As a string of neatly executed salaryman murders closes in around them, Yuuji tries to prove he belongs in a world of blood, paperwork, and bad coffee—while his overprotective not-quite-brother Chousou watches uneasily from the edges of the law.
Across the river, Getou Suguru is building something out of middlemen and dead accountants, watching the news and the man he used to stand beside. Six years after everything between them shattered, Gojo and Geto find themselves on opposite sides of the same case again—this time with new kids caught in the crossfire.

Summary
after the summer festival, yoshiki starts writing down every difference between the dead boy he loved and the thing still wearing his face.
it’s supposed to help him remember. it’s supposed to keep grief from turning him stupid. instead, it turns into something uglier: a record of every gesture, every almost-touch, every moment hikaru becomes too much like himself or too much like the one yoshiki lost.
then hikaru finds it.
and if memory is one kind of violence, being seen back might be another.
or: yoshiki tries to keep grief and desire in separate boxes and discovers neither of them listens.

Summary
Ain’t this what you wanted? You finally got away from him.
Except he hadn’t, because Hikaru was still there. Not in the body that held the same warmth, whose voice warped and melded into something familiar yet uniquely its own, but in the fresh air of Kubitachi. He was in the sweet smell of the summer grass and the sticky residue of popsicle on his fingers.
Yoshiki’s sure now he would’ve been in Tokyo as well. Indou Hikaru would’ve haunted him on every street corner he’s never been.

Yoshiki thinks about signs and differences.

Summary
“You can’t run from it now,” he said. “You have a reputation.”
“I poisoned a creek and set a field on fire. That’s not something to earn ladyship for.” Verily, last she checked, it was not.
He hummed. “It won us the battle.”
Maomao clicked her tongue. “That’s just chaotic improvisation.”
She glanced down at her hands. Still trembling. Still stained with nightshade and the explosive powder from the bombs. The bowstring had left a red, angry welt on her wrist at the final shot. She hadn't even noticed.
“You’re not the first warlord to start that way,” Gaoshun said. There was something steady in his voice, something oddly kind.
