Summary
When Y/N returns to the leaf after 15 years at a remote training facility, she struggles to refind her place in Konoha. Follow Y/N, a ninja with unique abilities, as she rekindles old friendships and rebuilds her rapport in her home village. What’s more difficult for this untouchable 24-year-old kunoichi: fitting in, or a particularly poorly-timed mission involving a certain gang of S-rank criminals?
This story follows the time period of Tsunade’s rule as Hokage, with flashbacks to the Third’s reign. It will be mostly canon compliant but the scale of the reader insert changes some small details, and time jumps may not be 100% accurate. I’m writing this fanfic as a sort of cathartic experience. This is my first fanfic so please be gentle (: Lots of the story will be inspired by some really good Kakashi x Reader and Itachi x Reader fics and I’ll make sure to mention the respective writers and their (likely highly recommended) fics in the notes before or after a chapter when applicable/available.
Also, the main character of this fic is an OC I created with a very specific physical description, but I will be posting this with descriptive blanks for the name for sake of the readers!
