Summary
As profilers in the Behavioural Analysis Unit (BAU), Ava and Beatrice are faced with the near impossible task of navigating their mutual feelings through everything that life throws at them. Yet, the biggest challenge of all wasn't the hostage situations, or the catching of serial killers. Not even the life-threatening injuries. In fact, it wasn't related to their job at all, but rather the gleaming metal on Ava's fourth finger and the tiny hand grasping hers.

Ava and Beatrice are FBI profilers and have been colleagues for a decade. Plot is loosely based around existing Criminal Minds episodes; centered around Ava and Bea's relationship at work and outside of it, all while Ava is married to someone else and has a son.

“No, no, no,” Lena mumbled, icy fear sliding down her spine and coiling in her stomach as a jolt of panic ran through her. “That can’t be correct. It must be a contaminated sample.”
Scrambling for a sealed test tube waiting on a rack, Lena opened a metal drawer and rummaged through the neatly arranged medical supplies to pull out another packaged needle. Making a tourniquet around her left arm, Lena sat down on a stool and eyed the pale skin at the crook of her elbow, threaded through with bluish-green veins, and tore the needle open with her teeth.
“Miss Luthor, the sample is not contaminated. Results show increased blood volume, and physical symptoms of your illness coincide with early gestational symptoms of pregnancy. By my calculations, you should be six-”
“I’m not pregnant,” Lena snapped, her voice breaking as she shot to her feet, needle clutched in her hand and tourniquet slowing the blood supply to her left arm. “It’s- it’s indicative of a uterine infection, or a- a tumour. Ovarian cancer. But I am not pregnant. It would have to be an immaculate conception.”

Summary
Do you believe that love can travel through time?
When lovers were separated in one lifetime, they would sometimes reincarnate only to try and find each other at another to fulfill the love that was snatched out of their hands. During a time when their love was not meant to be, they will try to fulfill their heart's desire that was tragically taken away from them, as different people and in different lives.
Ava has had this recurring nightmare since she was a child. It always tragically ends with her being shot in the chest and screaming herself awake. It comes every year at the same time. When the sun sets much earlier in the sky and the rain starts to fall.
Until one day, an unfortunate event led her to meet Beatrice.
Then the nightmares started to get less traumatizing, and her dreams became clearer, and more secrets revealed themselves to Ava.

A fanfic dedicated to the Ivy/Inger pairing on Heirs of the Night, mostly based from content in Season 2. I wanted to fill in the blanks for these characters. Since the original books are not available in English, I wanted to provide some much-deserved detail for their characters. For a show that only has about 25 minutes per episode to tell an epic saga of a very interesting fantasy world, it wasn't nearly enough!
