Summary
Meta Knight is Dream Land's resident Star Warrior, but when his ship is destroyed in combat against Dream Land's hero, Kirby, Meta Knight finds himself losing everything he's ever held dear. His position as a Star Warrior, his honor as a knight, and and the kingdom's trust all gone from a single battle. But it is nothing compared to losing the Halberd.
Soulbound are what happens when love and care is put into the creation process of a powerful machine. A physical manifestation of the machine's soul, so to speak. Hal is the soulbound of the battleship Halberd. When his machine-self's reactor is destroyed by Hal's own gun, there is nothing left that can be done, and the inevitable must be accepted.
But who can accept death? ...The child who's life it has come to claim? ...The father that has to hold his son's cooling body? No one can truly accept death. Not the noblest of knights. Not the most ignorant of heroes. And certainly not the poor souls that must face it head-on.
