After Caine's torture of the players, he returns to sanity and manages to stay for a little longer than in the show, time enough to express the horror and regret of his own actions.
But still, the deletion happens, and the players are left in a broken circus now filled with voices echoing all of their regrets.
All is not lost, though, as Kinger realises that maybe they can still be saved; the key to getting the circus back is, of course, rather obvious. Caine is needed.

Summary

The Illuminati have created a new brainwashing device and tested it on a small town, transforming it with overly perfect suburban Americans. To infiltrate it, Reagan has to pose as a newly engaged woman, and the only team member normal enough to pass as her fake fiance is Brett, who could blend in with the golden retrievers themselves.
In the end, it only takes suburbia to ruin somebody's sanity and form a relationship.

Izuku sprints for the gate as soon as Present Mic’s given the go ahead and he almost immediately runs headlong into a one-pointer. He has no weapon but his hands and his wits. That’s okay. Izuku’s good at thinking on the fly. Lips curling into a feral grin, Izuku leaps forward, arms curling around the robot’s ‘head’ in a mockery of a chokehold and pulling, while his legs press the robot into ground. Izuku can feel his palms catching on sharp machinery as he finally tears the head free.
That’s something he’ll take care of properly later. Right now, it’s not what matters ———
