Summary
At last Thranduil settled on top of him. He gazed down, his eyes unblinking, and his face utterly devoid of his usual mirth, instead colored by a narrow, channeled intensity. A bit overwhelmed, Elrond had to look away.
"You know," said Thranduil conversationally, turning Elrond's face back to him by his chin, "you don't have to lea--"
"Stop," Elrond told him, putting a hand over his mouth, "don't make this any harder than it already is."
He had guessed that Thranduil would bring this up eventually. Thranduil was a wood-elf; he heeded no call of seagulls, let no pull of oceans touch his heart. He spurned Ulmo; he loved his green woods, the grass beneath his bare feet. He would never leave them.

What would the gods think of Alayne? Standing outside Petyr Baelish's door on the cusp of midnight, crushing a purple gem into a glass of red wine, she found she didn't care. She raised her hand, knocked on the door.
Drink of it. Drink of the cup that I have brought you, a servant to your every want and need. Drink of your own presumption.
And, fool of a man he was, he did.

Summary
"No. I want to stay here with you," he confessed, not meeting Skywarp’s optics. Skywarp wanted nothing more than for Thundercracker to look at him, to say I was wrong, let’s go back to bed and forget this, but he would never. It was already beginning; Starscream had given his commands. Finally, when every doomed mechanism in the room had been adorned for their funeral, Thundercracker finally looked at him. His red optics glowed hotly out from between the bloody lines on his face. He was already dead.
"But I will lead them into battle nonetheless."
-
It's only partially Skywarp's fault that this is happening, but it's fully his job to fix it. Not just because he has to, but because he wants to. And if that means going to the edge of the universe for this idiot, then so be it.
It's his Conjunx Endura whose life needs saving, after all.

Theon never fell...which was precisely what he was thinking right before he had the grossest, most painful, ligament-annihilating, agonizingly humiliating yard sale of his entire life. We’re talking snowboard gone, bindings obliterated, hat and goggles (no helmet, he wasn’t a wimp) sailing through the air, mittens somehow vanishing into the well-tracked snow of the park.
Whatever. He hoped the doctor was at least cute.

Summary
When reading over the letters his employee's children sent to Santa, Bilbo is beyond touched when he reads the heartfelt wish of a four year old Arwen and he and Thorin set to scheming with Lobelia to make sure that her wish is fulfilled. The best place to do that is at Bag End Publishing's annual Christmas party, and Elrond has no idea what has been set into motion!

Summary
"Yes Arwen," Glorfindel told her drily. "It is of course inconceivable that Lord Elrond of Imladris — an elf so insufferably overcommitted to bureaucracy he once tried to implement and risk assess a regional policy for the baking of Lembas until Galadriel told him where he could shove his bread — might ever decide to stick around and micromanage the upbringing of his grandson."

Summary
Valinor was every bit as beautiful as the songs promised.
Its streets glittered with the dust of diamonds, gleaming under the radiant light of a sun that shone brighter, purer over the hallowed lands than it ever had over Middle-earth. The peaks of the Pelori, soaring and snowcapped, loomed pristine in the distance, mocking her with every glimpse. These were not mountains that had ever known the tread of an orc's foot, nor suffered spilt blood or harrowed screams. Even the sands of Eldamar were white and silken underfoot, nothing like the abrading grit of the beaches of Belfalas where her mother had once reigned.
Celebrían hated it.
