Anqa cursed inwardly. There was a finality in So’lek’s tone that she knew better than to challenge, but the announcement that she would be going with Priya and only Priya on a lengthy and dangerous mission made her stomach churn uncomfortably. Priya was one of her best friends, yes, but it hadn’t taken Anqa’s dumb brain very long for her feelings to evolve into something more complicated than simple friendship.Anqa Salaam defected to the Resistance years ago where she met a young and bold scientist with vibrant pink hair that she couldn't help but slowly fall for. She considered confessing to Priya, but out of fear of losing her closest friendship on Pandora she bit her tongue. Now sent on a sudden mission to raid an abandoned RDA base with nobody but Priya for company, she begins to realize that hiding her feelings may be more difficult than she first thought. She finds herself in an impossible situation - desperately trying to hide both her true feelings for Priya and their intrusion into RDA territory.

in a place where life is fragile and nothing is guaranteed, falling for someone feels like the biggest risk of all.
