Summary
As Lan Wangji stared at the lonely candle on his cake, he made a wish: to have a friend he could share this new stage of his life with.
Despite his freedom, Lan Wangji had stuck too strictly with some of his rules and spent too much time in his room studying. He needed to go out, study somewhere else, try new cafés and eat outside more often. He needed to talk to new people too — that was the only way he could make friends.
So, with this thought in mind, he blew the candle, engulfing him in darkness. His wish remained the same, but he would do his part to make it come true.
Or: Lan Wangji is living in a city far from his family. In his attempts to make new friends, he makes a special connection with the new barista in his favorite bubble tea shop.

Summary
It’s their final year in high school, and the sudden arrival of a new student has Wei Wuxian intrigued. Lan Wangji is rigid, reserved, a boring fuddy-duddy who’s a complete stickler for the rules; he doesn’t smile, he doesn’t talk, and yet, Wei Wuxian couldn’t help but be drawn to him. He has tried everything, thrown out every attempt, but nothing has worked; no matter what he does, Lan Wangji just doesn’t want to be his friend.
That is until one day, after finishing one of his many detentions, Wei Wuxian spots Lan Wangji standing in the schools parking lot talking to someone else. They weren’t talking exactly, not in the usual way at least. Their hands moved in fluid, meticulous motions with practiced ease.Sign Language.
It was in that moment Wei Wuxian knew exactly how he would make Lan Wangji his friend. He just had to start practicing.
OR / Lan Wangji is Autistic and selective non-verbal, and Wei Ying is the energy-filled, talkative desk-mate who learns sign language so they can be friends!

Summary
“Wei Ying?” The voice which speaks into the sudden silence is hoarse and shaking and ...familiar?
There’s a shift like movement to his right and he tenses automatically against the blow.
“Wei Ying?” No blow comes. Only that voice again and yes, it’s definitely familiar. Familiar but ...not from now. It’s a ‘before’ voice and he doesn’t let himself think about ‘before’ so he shies away from the memory, pushing it down down down as he does all memories that come before the dark and the pain. Still, something seeps through, an image: long black hair, jade pale skin, white robes, a headband, and lips set into a disapproving line.
OR Wei Wuxian is being kept in some dark horrible dungeon underground until the day Lan Wangji finds out he's still alive.

Summary

He's noticed of course, how could he not? But he's barely had a few days to get used to this new body. Certainly he hasn't had a chance to think about heats or anything like that and now... now... It's the middle of the afternoon when Wei Wuxian realizes what's happening.

“Yes you did.” Wen Qing steps up beside Lan Wangji. “What did you do to yourself this time?”
Instantly Wei Wuxian’s eyes snap open. “Wen Qing!?”
“Yes.” She crosses her arms. “Did you hit your head or something?”
“Wen Qing?” Wei Wuxian’s eyes go wide shock then, to Lan Wangji’s utter surprise, begin to fill with tears. “Lan Zhan what’s happening? How…” His voice trails away as his eyes shift, taking in the cave, Wen Qionglin, A-Yuan, and Lan Wangji himself before returning to Wen Qing.
“Oh…”
