So, instead of kicking Patty and Carne's heads into the wall for saying a good veterinarian could've saved his beef, he went for a walk to cool off. And since he was getting predictable and didn’t want to be found easily, Sanji took the second left instead of the third. He almost walked right by it: a little corner shop, filled to the brim with plants. A cross-eyed rabbit statue stood guard at the door. With a small ‘why not?’ Sanji went across the street and inside.

    Sanji negó con la cabeza.

    —No, alguien que odio de todo corazón. Si lo tuviera cerca, quizá le demostraría que tanto lo odio —contestó—. Tu nariz me hace recordar mucho a alguien que conocí hace muchos años atrás, hace tanto... Usopp. —Sus dedos se enterraron en su cadera y él jadeó sobre su oído, por eso fue reconocido de inmediato. Jamás podría olvidar la manera en la que su voz decía su nombre, la tesitura en su pronunciación.

     

    Sanji conoció a Usopp después de escaparse del castillo. Él le salvó la vida. A cambio, Sanji decidió entregarle el resto de los años que le quedaban, aunque eso no le gustase. Todos los días oía a Usopp recordarle.

    —Tienes que marcharte. Aún puedes casarte. Aún puedes vivir.

    Pero él no se marchó. No hasta que fue imposible quedarse.
