Summary
Mike's eyes turn glassy and tears began to well up at his waterline. His breathing is shaky as he squeezed Will's hand for reassuring.
Will disconnected their hands, placing his own on either side of Mike's face. "You're so pretty." He murmurs.
A giggle forced it's way out of Mike's lips, slightly watery from the tears that began to fall. Will gently wiped them away with his thumb.
"So are you." Mike said earnestly.
Will blushed, smile widening. "Thanks, but this isn't about me right now. I want you to know how pretty you are."
"Then show me."

Summary
The Byers’ are on a cross-country road trip for the summer to relax and unwind before Will and Jane head off to college. Unfortunately, they aren’t quite yet accustomed to the rurality of Upstate New York and find themselves getting lost along the way.
When all hope seems lost, Joyce finally spots a beacon of hope in the distance: a Dollar General convenience store, where they end up restocking on snacks, getting directions, and one particularly cute boy’s number!!! (But maybe that only applied to Will)

Instead, he accidentally falls asleep in the infirmary and wakes up to Will Solace playing with his hair like that’s a normal thing people do.There’s a headache, a healer who refuses to leave, and way too much accidental vulnerability for Nico’s liking.
feat. Nico being stubborn, Will being annoyingly gentle, and the slow realization that maybe being taken care of isn’t the worst thing in the world.

He remembers, eyes squeezed shut against the swell of nausea and vertigo that claws through him, being not-quite-thirteen, and listening eagerly to Mr. Clarke explain the science behind dreams.
“Dreams,” he’d said, “are often seen as these sacred experiences, something that has to have a deeper meaning. We have centuries of examples of dream interpretation, the art of examining commonalities between different dreams to find a single interpretation.”
“The thing is,” he’d continued, “dreams are just your brain’s way of processing and regurgitating information; a fruit-salad of information, so-to-speak. Sure, it can mean something, but it’s more likely to be a random grab-bag of facts and feelings that you’ve come across in life.”
A fruit-salad of information. Here, in the dark bathroom at a little past three in the morning, Mike breathes carefully, and tries to dissect where the supposed ingredients of his fucked-up dream salad actually came from.
