Summary
Despite his time in bed, Ciel feels tired, weighed down by the emotional turmoil he’s just lived through. He misses his own bed.
Still, it’s nothing he can’t handle, and certainly nothing his butler can’t help him with. Kicking his legs idly against the side of the bed, Ciel tips his head up so that Sebastian’s lips brush over his forehead, so he can feel him smile against his skin. “Did you miss me?” He asks, half-mocking.
“Of course,” Sebastian answers earnestly. “There’s nothing to savor about an empty shell of a soul.”

Summary
A tendril touches his cheekbone, pinpoint of cold against his flushed skin. Several eyes open in the dark and take stock of the room, the bloodied sheets, the dead sacrifice, before landing squarely on Ciel. A tremor runs through the shadowy mass, gaze squinting in dark delight as it realizes the half-dressed state Ciel is in.
It coos, “You look much the same, my lord. Forgive my presumptuousness, but have you grown any taller at all since we saw each other last?”
[or: three years after their contract was forcefully dissolved, ciel attempts to summon sebastian once more]

Ciel Phantomhive looks the same as the day the demon saw him last, warm and soft and beautiful even as the light gradually faded from his mismatched eyes.
