This is why she never wanted to go on these websites. She never wanted to pay for porn, and feared what kind of floodgates this would open. But, even so, it made her blood pump through her veins, in the same way her other usual thrills did. Maybe even more intense. Definitely more intense.
The way she was looking at her set her heart aflame. When was the last time Pomni had somebody look at her like that?? Has anybody? She had eyes that could lure in anyone, and Pomni would be just another one of the victims of her siren song, surely.

Summary
"We were so worried, we heard you—" Ragatha starts, and then looks up. She meets Jax's gaze dead-on, and goes silent. Tears brim in the corner of her eye. Her hand flies up to cover her mouth. He can't tell if the look on her face is relief or fear.
Gangle's staring at him like she's seen a ghost. Pomni slowly raises to her feet, brows furrowed. She winces as every movement jars her wavering form.
Cowered on the floor, panting, confused and disoriented, with everyone standing above him, taller than him… it reminds Jax of something deeply unpleasant. They're all staring at him. They're all seeing him.
Jax knows they're not going to like what they see.
His breath quickens until his head is spinning, and he feels like he's going to vomit. He forces himself upwards with a frustrated cry, swaying in place, and then turns and bolts towards his room as fast as he can.
"NO!" Pomni screams.
(or: pomni pulls jax back from the brink.)

Another shiver rattled her frame as his eyes bore into her own; her pride hoped he didn't notice it, while her desire all but begged him to. Anything to rouse him from his seat and bring him close to her. "I struggle to find the good sense in ordering your forces away without their weapons, never mind gratitude for you doing so. Why take such a risk?"
"You call this a risk? I'm hurt."
Her heart quickened as he rose to her challenge, his hulking silhouette framed against the wall he once faced. "Their exercises for today involve them hunting game armed only with their wit and bare hands. I won't suffer fools who can accomplish nothing with either. It is the soldier who makes the weapon, after all." He was upon her in a stride or two, seeming almost as eager to close the distance between them as she secretly was. "And aside from that..." He bent down, leaning in close. "I truly did wish for us to have some... privacy."
"I suppose that's fair," she managed to say, in spite of the glow of his eyes and the sudden proximity of his mouth to hers threatening her focus. "So you did lure me here like this on purpose."

This arrangement Golden Cheese has with Burning Spice is... annoying. Doable. Tolerable, for the most part. Fun, even, if she dared to admit that to anyone, whether that be herself or her friends (or worse, Burning Spice). But annoying. Very, very annoying.
Especially when she has to go do it before she even starts her day properly. But fine, very well. If he wants to disrupt her prized morning routine in the service of his own selfish desires, then she's going to make him face the consequences.

He had been bothered by it since the beginning, but looking it fully in the metaphorical eyes he realized: this was getting a bit ridiculous.
