Summary
Nora and Deacon are bumming around the Commonwealth, kicking ass and taking names while they wait for the Brainiacs to find a way into the Institute to rescue her son. Until someone from Deacon's past resurfaces, endangering him, the Railroad, and the synths they’ve sworn to protect. Once the pathway to the Institute becomes clearer than ever, Nora is forced to make an impossible choice: save her child or save her friends. Threats against the people she cares about aren’t something Nora takes lightly, and she'll do anything to ensure her partner's safety. Even if that means putting herself in danger.
She and Deacon do a reconnaissance mission that leads to killer robots, cool cats, false allies... and sexual innuendos?!? Somewhere along the way, Nora starts developing feelings for her partner. Feelings that would end their partnership the moment Desdemona found out. So she buries them and keeps moving forward, never noticing that the man beside her has been keeping his own secret for far longer than she could have ever known.

The Institute is gone, blown up by Nora and her friends, and she has nothing left to give. Riddled with grief and self-loathing, she exiles herself to her home in Sanctuary, where she becomes a shadow of herself. Of course it's the irritating mercenary that interrupts her despair and makes her feel things she's tried to lock up for months. Things come to a head and he leaves, maybe forever. She learns he left for the Capitol Wasteland after receiving a letter from home, and Nora picks up immediately to go after him. He deserved the truth - she was wrong. He mattered, maybe more than anyone. But along the way, she comes across something - and someone - that changes everything.

Summary
This is a retelling of Fallout 4 with a focus on Deacon and his relationship with the Sole Survivor.
Deacon was in pain. The Railroad was slaughtered like dogs in the switchboard, and somehow he was the lucky bastard that survived. He had to find a way to get back at the Institute, to gain leverage over them once again.
Whatever they wanted was locked away in the icy tomb of Vault 111.
