Summary
“Park Jimin,” Taehyung muses. “Ah, isn’t he looking pretty. He’s your business, isn’t he?”
“He’s been my business for the past four years,” Jungkook mutters darkly, his jaw clenching in frustration as he watches Jimin.
Taehyung lets out a little laugh at whatever face Jungkook is making. “Your favourite criminal’s been busy.”
“He’s not my favourite anything,” Jungkook says flatly, his tone dry and unamused. “He’s a dark stain on my reputation and an unfinished case file I want to close.”
“Is that why you always let him get away?”
“I don’t let him do anything,” Jungkook grits out, an aggravated flush creeping up his neck. “He’s just annoyingly good at climbing walls and memorising escape routes.”
Taehyung laughs, loud and bright. “Whatever helps you sleep at night, Jeon.”
Or: Detective Jeon Jungkook has a problem. A pretty-eyed, tiny little problem with a smile that could rival the moon and a mouth that won't stop running. He's determined to solve it and wash his hands of it for good—if only Park Jimin would take the damn hint and stop making things so difficult for him.

Summary
Jimin had spent so long living as someone he wasn’t that, somewhere along the way, he lost sight of who he truly was—if he ever knew at all.
The saddest part was realizing how much time he had wasted, more than he’d ever admitted to himself, until he met someone who lived unapologetically, someone unafraid to be seen.
Jungkook was so real, so grounded in his own skin, that when Jimin met him, it stirred something unsettling. For the first time, he felt the weight of his own performance—his carefully constructed self unraveling in the presence of someone who didn’t need a mask.
He began to wonder: was meeting someone so wholly themselves the beginning of something—an inception? Or would he retreat again into the safety of pretending?
And even then, was Jungkook truly what he appeared to be? Or was Jimin only seeing a version of him—one shaped by his own longing to be free?

Summary
At almost thirty-one, Park Jimin has achieved the ultimate millennial dream: a thoroughly mediocre corporate existence that demands absolutely nothing of his soul. He has his ergonomic chair, his perfectly timed commute to avoid elevator small talk, and a flawless system of mutual procrastination with his work-bestie, Hoseok. His life is boring, ordinary, and exactly the way he likes it.
Then their boss hires Jeon Jungkook.
--------Jungkook was standing up, leaning his forearms over the low fabric partition that separated their desks. He was smiling brightly, pointing a finger directly at Jimin's monitor.
"I saw the little 'Jimin is typing' bubbles popping up on Slack for like two minutes, so I figured you were taking a break from your presentation," Jungkook said, completely oblivious to the murderous intent radiating from Jimin's soul. "Since you're answering now, I can just walk you through my notes! It's super fast, I promise."
Jimin slowly slid his headphones down to his neck. His sanctuary was breached. His code was under attack. Synchronous, unprompted communication was happening.
His boring, ordinary life was officially over.
