Nick Nelson is a rugby prodigy, and he feels all the crushing weight of what that means. However, when a video of Nick and the boy who awakened his sexuality that Nick had purposefully kept dormant for years kissing is recorded and spread around campus, Nick's world is flipped on its axis. He's forced into a public outing he wasn't quite ready for and Nick is left to deal with the aftermath that leaves him with a lot of drama, hurt, and baggage that he’s not sure he ever wants to unpack. So, he swears off any distractions, closing the door on all of it - love and relationships and his desires to fulfill a part of himself no one else seems to want to accept. If it isn’t about rugby, if it isn’t about fulfilling his pre-determined destiny, he doesn’t entertain it. And it's all okay because all Nick wants for his last year of uni is to be someone his father can be proud of again. That is until he comes across one Charlie Spring.

They are a little bit older than in the original work and the timeline is similar but not the same. They are each a member and head of a rival group. The story is full of pranks and shenanigans. Although our two boys, Nick and Charlie, are on opposite sides of the social order, they find their way to each other when a prank goes wrong. The angst is mild, but the fun is wild.

Summary
In this aged-up AU, Charlie never told Nick that he'd been in love with him for a decade, until it blew up in their faces during a fight. After thirteen months of not speaking, Tori calls Nick to tell him Charlie needs him, and Nick drops everything to care for an injured Charlie.
Charlie broke his ankle and can't put any weight on it for five more weeks, which means needing help. Something he would rather die than ask for. Then, as if he's dreaming, Nick shows up when he's falling apart and vows to take care of him. It doesn't matter that they haven't spoken in over a year, all that matters is that Nick is there and holding him close.
But the feelings that nearly destroyed them are boiling under the surface. They need to figure out how to navigate the new them--even if that means reopening healed wounds. (This has a very happy ending don't worry!)

There's a a journey of bi-sexual awakening for Nick and some old wounds throwing up insecurities for Charlie given Nick's slightly hot and cold behaviour while they work out who they are for each other.
However there's quite a lot of flirting and pinning in there thrown in plus they help each other work out what they really want from life both in a relationship and in other aspects. For anyone who's ever been dissatisfied at work this might ring a few bells too!

Summary
Nick and Charlie never meet in grammar school, their lives having taken different directions prior to that. Nick ends up playing American Football (long story) at a University in the Midwest United States (another long story).
Nick and his buddies go out for a night of fun and by pure chance he meets Charlie, who also attends the same university (again...long story). Discovering they are from the same hometown and the feeling of fate connecting their lives, they share an amazing few minutes together before both are pulled away, possibly never seeing each other again.
But, when another twist of fate brings our two men together again, will either one have the courage to embrace the second chance destiny has thrown thier way?
This is a medium angst, somewhat slow-burn AU, introducing some brand new characters. There is definitely a lot of fluff, some pretty spicy "E" rated scenes, and definitely angst, not only in relationships, but in thier paths to self-discovery and outside world reactions. The core story has 30 Chapters with at least one epilogue, possibly more. New chapters daily or every other day.
