    In the remains of Vox's divine weapon, Lucifer appeared nearly forgotten. However, it was the most unexpected of sinners—equally injured and battered—who reached out a hand and pulled him from the wreckage.

    ​The Demon’s hand lingered—a disconcertingly warm weight on the King's upper arm—waiting to ensure Lucifer was steady on legs that felt like crumbling stone. The foreign, sustained contact made Lucifer’s skin prickle, but it was not the expected nausea of disgust. To his utter horror, deep in the marrow of his bone-deep exhaustion, he found himself profoundly relieved to feel the slightest bit of a comforting, steadying presence—a touch that was not administered in pain or malice. He had been utterly alone in the wreckage, surrounded only by the ghosts of his own inadequate power, and now the unlikeliest of sinners was showing the rarest, most forbidden form of basic consideration.

    ​“Careful, Bambi,” Lucifer murmured, the nickname laced with a dry, venomous sting. “Someone might actually start to think you have a heart."

    Alastor had long accepted that indulging in anything that could be perceived as weakness got you nowhere in Hell, and he’d be damned again if he did something as pedestrian as asking for help. But when his wound from the recent failed extermination drove him to the brink of a more permanent second death, he knew there was only one being who may be able to heal him, and he would have to seek him out whether he liked it or not.

    Lucifer had long given up on sinners and on the idea of his own happy ending, but he was determined to rebuild his relationship with his daughter and support her in achieving her own dreams. So, when a certain irksome—and very injured—Radio Demon came calling one evening, he found himself choosing to hope for the first time in a long time, and set about healing the sinner.

    Neither had known the significance that evening would hold, nor that it would send them both on a path of self discovery, facing their pasts, and finding a happiness they never thought possible. And most importantly—they were on that path together and would remain there for each other, tomorrow, and after.

    The demon looks him over thoughtfully. "Remind me, where are we again?"

    Well, Lucifer has a vague idea of that at least. "Uh, Hell?"

    He nods as if that confirms something for him. "And who am I?"

    "My husband?" Lucifer asks hopefully, not really thinking through the ramifications of being wrong. He's never been great at filtering his thoughts before they spill out of his mouth.

    A faint blush tinges the other demon's cheeks as his brows furrow. He seems frozen, but there's still a smile, so Lucifer must have come to the right conclusion!

    Lucifer makes an assumption and Alastor, shockingly, goes along with it. Now that his memories are back, Lucifer is determined to figure out why the demon didn't correct him when he had the chance. Surely there are nefarious reasons at play, right?

    They bicker, they trade threats, and Alastor even goes so far as to use his natural charm, just to fuck with that pretty stupid blonde head even more.
    One thing leads to another and they end up biting off way more than either of them can chew.
