It's suppose to be a fresh start, away from Syngorn and his father. Where Vax could finally be himself, and make new friends, go to parties, and have lots of regrettable sex.
Until his new room mate moved into the dorm room with him, bringing with him his fancy accent, pompous glasses, and boyfriend who looked ready to kill anyone who looked at him wrong.
And so Vax felt that his first year at university was going to straight to hell in a very fancy speaking handbasket, whilst falling a little more each day for his white haired room mate.
He just hoped that he could make it to the end of the year in one piece. -

Essek Thelyss opened a cat café in the Empire to spite his mother. That much had been the basis of his move. Changing from being the first son to a ruling den of the Dynasty, to waking up at 4am to ensure that the baked goods were ready to go in ovens, and the cats had enough play and treats before customers came in.
There was just this one customer who visited every day that kept catching his eye, although they didnt speak too much to one another.

Vax'ildan has gotten his new role. A new job. One that he's been very much working hard to be able to do, and finally its all paid off.
He's a nurse, and a damn good one at that, thank you very much.
He has been allocated to the long term and high dependency ward, to help give more one on one care with some of the patients within. Most are with long term conditions that don't allow them to go home, such as paralysis, limp amputations, strokes.
But one patient that Vax is introduced to isnt even awake.
Their long term coma patient, only known as "John Doe", whom all the other nurses enjoy tending to.
And now is under Vax'ildans care.

Lucien remains silent as his eyes continue to track him. A spark of irritation flares at his stubbornness, but Caleb closes his eyes briefly. If Lucien had potions, he would’ve used them before it got to this point, so they must be back with the others. Their situation has gotten more complicated, and Caleb being an alpha certainly doesn’t ease Lucien’s wariness of him in the slightest.
“We’re…” Caleb clears his throat, trying to find the right words. “You need to bunker down before it gets worse—”
Lucien barks out a laugh. “Save your care for someone else who would appreciate it, wizard, or are you changing your tune because I’m a bitch going into heat?”
“I’m expressing concern as any decent person would,” Caleb retorts firmly.

They'd only just ambled into the Kalhn textile shop when Qifrey caught sight of the short young woman working. She had a round face, rosy cheeks, flaxen hair. Her eyes had locked on Olruggio as soon as they’d entered.
Olruggio, for his part, thumbed through dyed wool samples as though he hadn't noticed. He likely wouldn't.
But Qifrey always noticed. Sometimes this left him as a voyeur: staring at someone staring at someone else. But other times, like today, his fixed presence at Olruggio’s side made him an involved party. There was always a delay, then a moment in which Qifrey became visible and the women realized he might be of help. Some of them were too scared to approach Olruggio outright—they’d built up a more intimidating version of him in their heads, had never heard him laugh wildly or watched dimples form when he smiled. Instead, they’d set their sights on Qifrey. Talk to him, or at least look at him imploringly, as though getting in his good graces might earn them the Torch’s attention.
He never felt like helping them.
or: Qifrey gets jealous.
