Yelena shrugged the comment off, “We worked for Valentina last time… Now, she works with us”
Bucky threw up his hands in exasperation, “Is that how you'd describe our last mission?” he contested, unable to keep the heat from his voice, “Working with us”
“Look, I don't trust Valentina either-” There was a pause.
“You all know where I came from, da?” Yelena inquired, eyes resting briefly on Bucky, then John, she knew that Alexie had been there.
“The Red Room…” John supplied, unsure what this had to do with anything.
“I did terrible things while I was there…Things you cannot imagine…unforgivable things” the echo of screams still rang in her ears, the snapping of twigs, the dirt flung up against her face, the bite of cold in the air, the spray of blood.
“I'm here because I was given a second chance” Yelena continued, her tone husky but firm.
“If you're asking me to give Valentina a second chance-” Bucky challenged, arms folded across his chest in defiance.
“No” Yelena relented, “Not for her” she cast a glance back to Bob, “For him”

Summary
Hank&Connor flee Detroit overnight after both are driven to the brink of committing suicide during the final days of the revolution. Taking refuge in Canada, they have to learn how to live with each other, help each other heal. Which isn't exactly as heartwarming as it sounds. Hank could fill a novel with his emotional baggage - alcoholism, depression & selfhatred over the death of his son. Connor is quick to catch up to him with his own share of problems- the constant threat of Amanda and another possible hacking attempt by Cyberlife leave him terrified of losing control. He's clueless about the concept of identity, free will and emotions, wants nothing more than to stay a machine. After all, he's only deviated in order to stop his partner from killing himself, not because he'd wanted to be free.
After a few weeks together, things seem to get better. Androids are close to gaining their rights in America. Hank and Connor are starting to form an actual familial bond. The Lieutenant is almost becoming hopeful after years of mindless cynicism. Then Connor starts slipping out of their home at night on a regular basis, believing Hank doesn't notice. He sure does. After all, he used to be the DPDs very best.

Connor's eyes flicked open in a moment, his light faltering between flashes of red and yellow for a split second before settling back on yellow. He inhaled a bit sharply, straightening and blinking a few times rapidly before his eyes finally drifted up to meet Hank's face.
"Apologies, Lieutenant. What did you say?" He asked, drawing his hand away from his computer and back towards himself.
Hank raised an eyebrow. "Connor, were you asleep?" He crossed his arms over his chest, looking the deviant up and down. Something was definitely off about him, Hank decided once he'd gotten a good look; his eyes were glassy and unfocused, almost looking straight through him. "You feeling okay?"
The android's face flushed a pale blue and his gaze darted away, his hands fidgeting with themselves. "Everything is functioning properly," He answered, almost a bit too quickly.
