With a yelp, Hawkeye Pierce was in BJ’s arms again.
It was delightful the way BJ knocked the wind right out of him, Hawkeye having to grab his arms tight to avoid toppling over. If he’d cared any less about appearances, BJ would hoist him in the air and spin him around, if only for the crazy laugh that would bubble out of Hawk as he did it.
“Christ!” Hawkeye laughed, pressing his hands on either side of BJ’s head. “Aren’t I the luckiest gal in the world?”
His eyes shone bright, his smile wide as ever. He glowed under BJ’s gaze, just as he always had.

“Alright, Hawk, you got me. I’m here to seduce you,” BJ says, very earnestly. Hawkeye blinks at him. BJ blinks back.
“Well, BJ, I have to say, you’ve been doing admirably well,” Hawkeye says with as much aplomb as he can muster. “However, I also have to say that I think you’re having a nervous breakdown, and that’s kind of a turn-off for me.”

It’s been almost twenty years since Benson Roche was sentenced to carry out four life sentences at G.H. Lemoine Correctional. Twenty-one since he had murdered his and Randy’s coworkers on a cool and bland January morning, since he had beaten Elliot Sheppard to death in the middle of Bill Snyder Elementary’s parking lot, had taken Miss Beard hostage only at Randy’s insistence he not kill her, had shot Marsha at the end of her shift at the Kutzburg Diner. Twenty-one years since he had forced Randy to drive around town with him for hours, laughing at him, maybe believing it was with him—driving around and never once trying to leave town, intent only on curing Randy of all that made him the most pathetic 21-year-old he had ever seen. Tenna was on the decline.
If he wanted to keep his name in lights, he would be forced to get a little help from an up and coming big name in Cyber City. While not particularly impressed by their first meeting, Tenna knows that this “Spamton” fella was his best chance of getting with the times or risk being left behind.
All he needed was a little guidance and all of that little mailman’s secrets to success. He would bring him in, give him a little sweet talk, stroke his ego, and get the guy to sing like a canary.
