Summary
Steve was never someone they used to pay much attention to before. Mike bitched about him endlessly when he was dating Nancy (though he’d been the one to breathlessly relate the tale of Steve and the Nail Bat and the Demogorgon to them, so). They’d viewed him with the benign disinterest Lucas thinks most kids would view their friend’s big sister’s jock boyfriend, mostly, but then Lucas had been in that junkyard with him and Dustin and Max and the demodogs and then he’d been with them at the Byers, with Billy, and Steve had put himself between Lucas and Billy without a second’s hesitation. Then he’d protected them again in the tunnels, and Lucas had maybe thought, Wow.
Lucas, at the basketball court on two Saturday afternoons, four months apart.

Summary
He instructs her on how to take the car out of park, get it in first, then second as they build up speed, and takes her down the main drag in town. She goes a solid fifteen under the speed limit but he doesn’t say anything. He doesn’t say a lot, as they go, just makes a correction here or there, a word or hum of encouragement too. He tells her to relax, once, and she breathes in deep and pretends to be someone else for a minute. It’s easy; she’s wearing a boy’s polo and Byers clocks that too, she thinks, the way his eyes flickered to the collar of it when he saw her on her stoop. She knows he knows. But he doesn’t mention it, so neither does she.
In the aftermath of Starcourt, Robin goes on.

Robin walked up the quiet little street on the other side of the lot, and sure enough the house was right where it was supposed to be, and there were a lot of seashells on the porch but she picked up the only one that looked like it might be able to hold a key, a big spiral-y snaily kind of shell, and she heard the telltale rattle of something in there, and when she dumped the single brass key out into her hand it was warm.
From the porch here she could see the ocean just over a little concrete wall where the street ended, not more than a few houses away. Prime real estate, she guessed.

Summary
It is such a simple question, but Yaz is not sure she has an answer. "We broke up" would not be true, because they never had a proper relationship in the first place. "She's passed away" wouldn't be true either because it is not as if the Doctor was dead. According to everyone at Companions Anonymous, the Doctor didn't die, not really, she just... changed, somehow. "We're not friends anymore" is also a lie, because Yaz and the Doctor will always be friends, even if they never see each other again.
After the Doctor, Yaz struggles to move on, but gets support from Companions Anonymous.

That was weird for a lot of reasons, besides the obvious one. It was weird for Robin to see anybody out here at all. It was weird to see Nancy Wheeler anywhere but school. She was born for school, Robin thought. Their school didn't have a uniform but Nancy practically wore one anyway, every day a different pastel cardigan and a skirt landing appropriately below her un-skinned knees. White socks and mary janes. She was wearing jeans and a red corduroy jacket now, though. Sneakers. Her hair was pulled back off her face and she was lying down on the train tracks with her eyes closed.
It was weird.

Summary
Robin Buckley’s life has never been particularly exciting, but she does find that lately, it’s full of surprises.

Steve Harrington thought they were kidding. A week ago, Robin and Eddie had been excitedly talking about this thing called a “Renaissance Faire” coming to Indianapolis the following weekend. The way they were talking about it with the costumes and the lore, Steve presumed it was another Dungeons and Dragons thing that he did not understand so he tuned them out.
(i.e. the fruity four and the kids go to the renaissance faire and something about Eddie in a costume gets Steve flustered)
