“I think… I want you to scare me,” Wumuti finally says, fidgeting and looking away.
Haru is silent for a moment, probably wondering if Wumuti misspoke.
“What do you mean?” She asks, moving one hand up to play with Wumuti’s hair.
The touch is calming, helping them to continue.
“I mean, like… You know I have anxiety, and how it gets really intense sometimes, right?”
Haru nods in reply, kissing them on the cheek; a silent sign for them to keep going. Wumuti swallows hard, wringing their hands.
“I think… I think I’ve figured out that if I get scared on purpose, it makes the anxiety calm down a little bit.” Their eyes are fixed on the wrinkles in Haru’s shirt. The silence of the room feels like it’s pressing in on Wumuti’s head, making it hard to think.

Haru hears the key in the door a while later, and he finally pulls his gaze away from Hyun and Rui to look at Wumuti as she enters. It's always hard not to be drawn to her, even when she's dressed comfortably like today. His mouth waters at the sight of her hair tied up in a loose bun, a large, fading hickey on her neck exposed for everyone to see.
He's about to happily welcome her home until she looks over to them. The smile on her face drops when she sees Rui and Hyun still locked together on the couch, and she presses her lips together in a thin line. She toes off her shoes quietly, and walks straight past the living room and down the hall to her room.

It's easy for Rui to fall into place between Hyun and Haru. Haru takes it on himself to show Wumuti that she's allowed to want them too.
