Summary
Vecna was defeated for good after his battle with El in Max's mind. Eddie's friends and bandmates, Gareth, Jeff, and Kevin, joined the party for the final battle after getting dragged into the whole mess when a demodog attacked them as they searched for Eddie. After the dust settled, the scars were mostly healed, and the government concocted their cover-up, everyone involved received an insane amount of hush money which helped them situationally but did little to fix the lasting psychological wounds that would never truly heal. Naturally, Jonathan uses his money to open up a record shop and basically only employs his family and friends, namely Will and Gareth who seemed to be hanging out more and more. Much to the dismay of everyone involved the pair seemed completely unaware of the sparks that flew between them.
---------Or... a record shop AU where Will falls for his cute co-worker Gareth, a drummer in a local band that he just can't get off of his mind.

“You…you can’t leave me,” Mike says, his voice sounding smaller, younger than his normal register.
Will rests his head on top of Mike’s. “I won’t,” he whispers into his hair. “I promise.”
Basically a retelling of the 24 hours immediately following Vol. 1, with added fluff and flashbacks, the infamous mixtape, Mike being a more fleshed-out character, and a much-needed confession from Will.

“Building a castle for your love?” Micheal smirked, delivering a pat on Mike’s back that almost sent the boy flying off the couch. “Marvelous! You certainly are me. Will shall surely love a castle.”
“Uh, it's a fort. Not an actual castle.”
Micheal ignored Mike. “William and I will help you. There will be no universe where we aren’t meant to be together. Our souls are connected, no matter where we are.” He smiled and the scars on his face looked less threatening. That must be how William sees Micheal. A mop of messy curly hair and a wide cute smile.
“You’ll help? Because I want to fix Castle Byers for Will.”
“Certainly. Demogorgons are roaming your woods, William will accompany you while I can stay here and distract your Will.”
“Okay, okay.” Mike nodded his head and grinned. “Deal.”
