Summary
Castiel hovers in the doorway of the den, aching. There’s an open bottle of whiskey and a cut-glass tumbler on the coffee table, alcohol long evaporated and a sticky ochre ring along the bottom. Beside it he can see a piece of paper, torn from a notepad and laid parallel to the glass. Tucked neatly under the table are Dean’s slippers. Carefully, Castiel leans over and peers down at the note. In Sam’s neat handwriting it reads:
Dean Winchester’s last drink, please do not remove
Castiel gets out of The Empty four years too late.

Summary
“So uh,” Dean’s voice starts to crack, and he has to blink back some tears. Stupid. He’s gotta say it before he chickens out. He wants Cas to know. “Part of me is kinda– kinda glad you got that. With him. ‘Cause I don't know if I’d be able to give you all that. Even if I want to.”

Summary
It’s only Ed and Harry who think they’re real paranormal investigators, Dean’s just along for the ride. The abandoned buildings are cool, and it’s a pretty good distraction from the indignities of his real life– taking care of Sammy, keeping up at school, and trying to figure out if he drunkenly confessed his gay feelings to that one weird guy who keeps showing up at Charlie’s events.

Dean Winchester: A Case Study In Borderline Personality Disorder And It's Normalisation In Men By Media by redwinesupernatural

Summary
Just a small breakdown/diagnostic formulation of Dean Winchester and his borderline personality disorder as seen through the lens of modern day perceptions of masculinity and the normalisation of dysregulated behaviour.
I got bored and decided to procrastinate writing my next chapter of my wip by writing this instead! Let's hope I put my degree to good use!

Summary
When Castiel is summoned and bound, he has much reason to worry - the kind of people who seek to control angels are usually of poor moral character and do so to nefarious ends.
Dean Winchester, however, is far from the usual sort - he’s righteous and charming, beautiful and clearly deserving of all good things. And thus it will surely pose no problem if Castiel stays bound to such a man and does everything in his power to keep him safe.

Summary
It’s September of 2005, and Dean Winchester, in an attempt to outrun old mistakes and painful memories, finds himself in southern Kentucky on a wild goose chase. He’s completely certain this weird religious movement he’s “investigating” is a hoax, despite the miraculous healings people report, and he’ll be back on the road in a day or two. Things are looking up when he meets Cas, an awkward (and gorgeous) graduate student who’s actually doing honest-to-god research into the local tent revival meetings. When that research takes a weird and personal turn, Dean’s left to face two very serious realities: one, this may be a real case after all, and two, he’s fallen way harder for Cas than he should ever have let himself.
