Capitano's steps falter at the sight of a shock of auburn hair amidst the foliage, his quick steps turning into a sprint.
He can only let himself collapse onto the ground and sob at the sight of Childe's pale corpse dangling precariously from a noose tied to a branch high up in the tree, with nothing but a hastily scribbled suicide note in his limp hand.
Just like always, he is too late. Too late to save his comrades, too late to save his family.

“Assaulting you? You had a gun to my head!”
“Prostitution is illegal in Snezhnaya.”(Modern AU! where Ajax is a camboy/prostitute looking to become a spy. He infiltrates the Tsaritsa's political party and accidentally gets caught up in a bad situation. But hey, maybe if he keeps trying to ruin the Tsaritsa's plans, Capitano, the Tsaritsa's General, will sleep with him. He's got ideas, even if they might not go that well.
This is just an excuse to write horny spy tartaglia/dutiful and easily embarrassed Capitano.)

Okay, so he's not dead. That's good. But what's this about him being stuck playing the character Tartaglia? Tartaglia, as in the no-good, one-dimensional, cartoonish villain who met his untimely, gruesome death in the first act of the original game?

He turned it over to examine his palm and found digital pads. Thick, reddish-brown hair covered his…he had to call them paws. There was dirt in them, which made him want to wince. He didn’t think he could wince anymore. He continued his examination of himself and discovered that he was, in fact, a wolf now. Or a dog. It was hard to tell when he couldn’t see his own face.
Diluc returns to Mondstadt, gets turned into a dog (wolf?), and tries to uncover Kaeya's nefarious plan to betray Mondstadt. Unfortunately it's rather hard to do the last one when he's a dog.
His solution? Get adopted by Kaeya.
