Will Byers is perfectly happy with his life.
He has a job he loves at Lantern House Publishing, a department that runs almost entirely on caffeine and stubbornness, and a promotion that has been practically promised for months.
Unfortunately, Will is also an unbonded omega.
Which turns out to matter a lot more than anyone bothered mentioning until the position of Creative Director is suddenly no longer his.

Summary
In one of their summer 1989 campaigns, Mike includes a mysterious, recurring NPC. A male tower guard who appears to be interested in Will. Will is a little apprehensive and confused at first, but Lucas, Dustin, and Max are very much intrigued.
The guard seems to be hiding something crucial for moving the campaign forward, but it turns out Will is the only one who can get him to talk... by charming him.
(Inspired by that one post “Was playing DnD and started flirting with the tavern keeper to get some info and at a certain point I realized I was just dirty talking with my buddy Ben.”)

Summary
Mike hadn't spoken to Will since the final battle. He'd sequestered himself up in his broken bedroom, refusing to eat or talk or accept any kind of comfort. That's why Will found it so strange when Mike started taking charge and forcing his care onto him. He thought he'd lost him forever after he'd come out and Mike stopped touching him. He couldn't have been more wrong.

After the only person in the world who needed him died, Mike had nowhere to channel his protective energy. That is, until he remembered how he used to protect Will as a child. So what if they were growing up? After everything that happened, Mike wouldn't let anyone or anything hurt Will ever again.

Mike’s words came through with a startling clarity, their effect on Will immediate. The way his name rolled off his tongue, hanging in the silence between them, felt like an arrow poised at Will’s heart. It stuttered in his chest, and his breath hitched, a quiet, embarrassing sound.
“W…ll…” Mike repeated. “Will… I…”
The rest of his sentence was swallowed, as Mike shifted again, a small thing that startled Will. His heart rate picked up, probably loud enough to be heard through the basement.
It's September 1986 and the Byers have been staying at the Wheeler's for the past six months. Things between Mike and Will have turned worse, leaving Will to struggle with the fractured remains of their friendship. But one day Mike falls asleep and Will overhears something he shouldn't.
