“Never have,” Izuku muttered, though he was too focused on licking up the sweat clinging to Kacchan’s skin to argue much further.

It’s been another three days since he’s seen Bakugou, but today he’s back, and looking a little sickly. He’s got those classic dark bags under his eyes and that squeamish green hue to his skin that usually hints at a stomach bug.
“Someone’s hungry,” Eijirou grins as the man rests his head against the display case.
“Pregnant, actually,” the blonde grumbled.

Summary
You never know when a single goodbye will be the last. When you kiss your partner goodbye, and see them off at the door, expecting to return, only to never make it home. How many times does someone leave without ever hearing a "Farewell, take care, see you later?" Is your last conversation a fight? A confession of love? Do they promise to come back to you? What happens when they disappear thousands of miles away, alone? When your bond is broken because they boarded a plane on a business trip and then the world ended?

When Katsuki leaves on a week long business trip to China, Eijirou and company's whole world stops turning. Disaster strikes. Katsuki is declared dead. And Japan mourns the loss of the number five hero. Life goes on, and a year later, Izuku is receiving a call from the Japanese Embassy in China that he needs to get on the next plane out of the country.
Katsuki returns in body, but not in mind. The person that left a year ago is gone forever, replaced by a shell of his former self and no memories.
