Hometown and its citizens are forced to deal with the deaths of Kris and Noelle. Their grief takes many shapes and sizes.

Wednesday approaches each reason with scientific discipline, gothic dignity, and the grim determination of a girl trying very hard not to notice that her best friend has become her favourite disaster.
Unfortunately, Enid keeps ruining everything by being loyal, brave, ridiculous, soft, stubborn, and impossible not to love.

Summary
The next day, Kris and Noelle don’t come to school. Toriel has a frantic, hushed conversation with Ms. Alphys out in the hallway before pulling Susie out there to ask her about the festival and stuff. Susie tells the truth: Kris wanted to talk to Noelle at the lake, Susie went off, when she came back they weren’t there and probably had gone home. Toriel frets and says nothing and keeps saying nothing even when Susie, some sort of fear seizing up in her gut, asks, are they okay?
Three days later they find the bodies.
