"Stars above– Leo, it's freezing!" Usagi shrieked, ears already starting to burn with the chill.
Leo's head shot up with a delighted grin, cupping his mouth so he could yell back. "I know! That's why you need to let me in!"
"Let yourself in!" They were echoing through the city. Usagi stuck his head further out of the window so his neighbours could keep sleeping peacefully, swirling his finger in a circle. "You're the one with the portals!"
Leo's grin widened, amused and oh-so-innocent, and he lifted his arms up. No swords underneath his hoodie.

Summary
This gave Grian time to observe him in more detail. Other than his paleness he appeared to look normal, except for one thing.
His eyes.
Deep red looked into his own pitch black. They were wary, as if trying to read everything about Grian from one glance. He hadn’t ever met anyone with red eyes before, Grian mused. It was an odd sight. There was something else off about Mumbo’s eyes as well, but he couldn't quite place what it was.
“So– uhm,” Mumbo cut off his staring, having taken on a red flush, “you need a place to stay?”
Grian nodded hastily, “If you’d be so kind then yes, please.”

The rabbit seemed to snap back into focus, eyes back onto Leo’s. “Sorry, I'm bad with long speeches. Could you summarize for me?”
Leo squeezed his snout between his fingers, exasperated. “I need to see you again in a couple days.”
“Like a date?”
“Yes, like a–” Leo looked up frantically, blush spreading across his cheeks. “No, not like that! I'm worried about the severity of your injury!” He looked away again. “Look, is there somewhere we can meet so I can make sure you won't die from this?!”
“Wait what's your name?”
AKA Leo goes undercover as a battle nexus medic to try to uncover one of Big Mama's plots, but ends up treating a cute rabbit yokai instead

Summary
After a mishap in Witch town surrounding Donnie's connection to it, Leo pays the price and is cursed.
At first he seems to be fine, no visible injuries or any sign of a curse actually being there. However, after a few days he falls ill, and it just gets worse from there...
Turns out he was hit with a "life draining curse". The spell is meant to slowly drain the life out of its victims until their body is unable to support itself any longer.
Will Donnie and the rest of the family be able to find a cure?
