    "Kacchan?" Four-year-old Izuku tilted his head at his best friend as the other stood in the doorway of the Midoriya apartment, completely alone. Katsuki shifted in place, rubbing his hands together before looking at his friend with so much guilt in his ruby red eyes.
    "Give me your hand."
    "What? But--"
    "I said give me your hand, Deku!!"
    The greenette flinched before doing as he was told, and the blond took his hand. A flash of light appeared the moment their hands touched, and Katsuki pulled his hand back quickly.
    "There. That was all I needed." He turned away, beginning to walk.
    Izuku blinked rapidly at his friend, and stared down at his hands. "Huh? But, what was that? Hey! Kacchan, where are you going?!"
    "Home," Katsuki replied bluntly, but it felt like a lie.
    Izuku watched him leave uncertainly, not knowing that was the last time he would see his friend for a long time.

    Which was when massive, inky-black, unfamiliar tentackles started leaving his body in writhing masses.

    Izuku's eyes, wide-open in shock, met Monoma's confused expression and it was at that moment that he knew, there would need to be another person informed of the story behind One For All.

    He swallowed the hair without a complaint, somewhat practiced after the repeat exposure, and turned towards All Might with as confident expression as he could manage.

    "I'd like to skip the exam in order to spend more time training the quirk," he announced.

    All Might spluttered blood like a character in a danmei, immediately making Izuku feel bad about just springing it on the man.

    "I realize we've left if for the last moment," the hero told him eventually. "But skipping the exam... Could you try awakening the quirk during it? Just clench your buttocks and punch!"

    Izuku decided a practical demonstration would be the best to showcase the issue with that strategy.
