Summary
The Devil's Grin, a speakeasy owned by a mysterious toothy individual, had recently lost its main attraction. Gangle takes her place, but something about her presence brings a lot more trouble to the table.
It's up to Pomni and Jax, two criminal investigators, to figure out who's the cause of the recent disappearances. All signs point to this speakeasy, but they seem to be stumped as to who the individual culprit is. Can Gangle evade the watchful eyes of the law? Or will she finally be caught for her murderous affairs?

If he had been trained by a more mercenary group, he could have slain the beast right there. As it was, he announced his presence, not through a word, or with a speech —as some of the more zealous knights preferred to do— but with a small, metallic sound. His flail, now lowered to his side, dangled, and Sollux deliberately let one of the small spikes on the head of it scrape across his greave. The sound it produced was faint, but the effect was instant.

Dirk Strider had long known that as a prince he would never be able to pick who he wanted to marry. He knew that there was approximately zero chance at all he would be arranged to marry a man either, he had come out to some other royals, but the news was never allowed to travel far. The prince of heart, as his official title went, was far too much of a political asset to be allowed to do as he wanted. He was okay with that.
However getting married to the fish alien heiress to the throne of a great bloodthirsty empire he had once fought to defend his home against. That he wasn't okay with.
