Bucky can’t always remember everything, the chair fried him pretty good for that, but once his memories start returning so many of them are of Steve. The first time they met, when he realizes they were soulmates, the first time Steve got so sick Bucky thought he was going to die. There are so many memories it’s hard sometimes. Sometimes he can’t be around Steve because Steve fills his head and he just can’t process it. He gets angry and snaps and he knows how much it hurts Steve, he can see it in his eyes, but it’s just too much.
That’s what makes Tony so easy to talk too. He doesn’t have any expectations and Bucky can be around him without being worried about being assaults by memories. He knows it’s selfish, he knows that Tony has done so much for him already, but it’s just so much easier. He never kicks him out or tells him to fuck off. He’s nice and caring and he doesn’t always pay attention if he’s too absorbs in his work but he’s there when everything else is too hard.

Another voice, who Bucky assumed was Pepper, responded, “Tell that to the seventeen separate death threats last week alone.”
Bucky almost whistled in surprise. He had known Stark was high profile, but seventeen was an awful lot of death threats. He caught himself, though, because he was a professional, thank you very much.
“It’s just hot air,” Stark grumbled. “You know that. I haven’t been kidnapped in months.”

Tony had a red star on his left shoulder, the mark of a dead man. James Buchanan Barnes’s soulmark, after all, was a matter of public record. Even though he died in World War II, Tony somehow had his mark branded on his skin.
He grew up with the knowledge that the unconditional love of a soulmate would never be for him. He didn’t care; soulmates were bullshit, anyway. His parents, united with a narcissus on their collarbones, were proof of that.
Tony’s soulmate was long dead, and Tony was totally fine with that. Really, he was.
Of course, the universe had to fuck him over in the most dramatic possible way.

There's something strange about Beacon Hills.
Stiles can't really put his finger on it, but the way certain classmates look at him at school and the way certain adults look at him in the grocery store has him curious. And it's not the sort of pitying looks that his mom's coworkers used to give him, but these ones are longer, more searching, like they're looking for something. Not to mention the weird noises that sometimes come from the woods when he runs, too human to be animal and too animal to be human. Plus the way the Hales have seemed to sequester themselves to the wild and give Stiles serious Cullen family vibes.
But Stiles, like everyone else apparently, ignores it. Until it becomes too great to ignore and he has to investigate for himself and find out what is actually going on in Beacon Hills.
