He wants to spin around and shove himself into Ni-ki’s arms. He wants to let it all go and stop pretending he’s fine. Instead, he turns his face to the side, jaw tight, fists clenching and unclenching. He kicks at the floor just slightly with his socked foot, trying to ground himself, to pretend he isn’t affected, even as his eyes sting.
“I said I’m fine,” he mutters, voice sharp, a little shaky, like the words don’t belong to him.
“You’re not fine,” Ni-ki says right away, calm and firm. Certain. “You’re overwhelmed. You don’t have to pretend for me.”

“Help?”, the man inquires a little amused and with raised eyebrows. Pierced eyebrows, at least the left one.
“W-well yes”, Heeseung answers, feeling how it’s not just the summer heat that makes him hot. “It looked very dangerous, you know…”
“Oooh”, the man chuckles, lightly throwing his head back and exposing a slender neck with sweat running down his throat. “You meant my jump. That was nothing.”
“Nothing?!”, Heeseung exclaims, mouth dropping in shock. “I- I thought you’ll die!”
“Well, I didn’t, did I?” There was again this chuckle, that triggered something in Heeseung, he couldn’t quite name. Exciting would probably be the closest description.
“No…”
“Thanks for your concern though”, the man adds, sounding a tad teasing, but still earnest and a smile forms on his lips.
