"I know you received and responded to my last letter, but I still know in my heart that this letter may never reach you. Nonetheless, I must send it. I miss you, and I believe that I will always miss you. Living with the burden of honoring the al Ghul name sometimes feels like too much to bear alone. The only connection I have to you is through my writing, that is why I cannot give it up, even though you might not receive this letter. I have taken my rightful place as Robin and brought honor to the al Ghul name, but still I long to come home. I want to see you and Grandfather once more, to walk in the sunlit halls of Nanda Parbat instead of these cold, dark, stone corridors. Gojo looks down at the silver band adorning his left hand. It's dirty, but the grime smears off easily when he swipes his thumb over the cool metal. He used to be able to see his reflection in it — but now, when he lifts it to his face, he can't see anything at all.
"He isn't around anymore,” he manages.
"Oh.” Megumi pauses for a moment, and then he asks, “What was he like?”
Suguru Geto is a lot of things — a stranger, a friend, a son — and the only thing keeping everyone from going haywire in the aftermath of the apocalypse.
He's also dead.
Satoru Gojo isn't many things, but the people of the Six Eyes settlement call him a great leader. He tries his best to be the beacon of hope they claim he is, but he doesn't feel like much of anything without Suguru.
It's been two years since the outbreak of the Gordian parasite, and Satoru hasn't learned to live without him.
He won't have to for much longer.
