    Summary

Mycroft Holmes did not agree to a car trip, but here he was, driving a very dysfunctional, chaotic group out of London for a "holiday".

It very quickly gets worse, including (but not limited to): Sherlock losing patience, John trying to mediate (and failing), Mrs Hudson one inconvenience away from threatening to kill someone, and Moriarty is here, and that's always a recipe for disaster, especially if you leave him alone for five seconds.

    Summary

Sherlock Holmes did not believe in coincidence.

This was not a philosophy he had chosen, nor a principle he felt compelled to defend. It was simply a structural truth of the world, as immutable and dependable as gravity. Patterns existed because something caused them. Actions had causes. People, no matter how irrational they appeared, had motives that could be uncovered, dissected, and understood.

    Everything could be known.

Which was precisely why the things he could not explain irritated him so thoroughly.

Candlin College was full of such irritations. They lingered at the edges of perception, in half-glimpsed expressions and inconsistencies too subtle for anyone else to notice, in the quiet spaces between conversations where something refused to resolve itself neatly into logic.

In Sherlock's world, everything has a cause, and therefore, everything can be understood.

So when James Moriarty doesn't quite fit the pattern, Sherlock ignores the inconsistency. Yet he finds himself choosing, again and again, not to ask the questions he already knows the answer to.

After all, some conclusions are... inconvenient.

    Summary

Professor Augustine Sycamore had not always been a professor.

Once, he had been a boy with dirt-stained knees and a notebook that never left his side, even when the pages were swelled with dew, the corners stuck together with sap, and an irritated Scatterbug nearly shredded the binding.

Sycamore had spent his entire life listening to someone, whether it was to Pokemon, to children on the brink of their journeys, or to ideals that once promised a better world. From his quiet childhood to the Kalos Crisis and its long aftermath, he carried the weight of responsibility, love, and regret, especially when Alain and Lysandre are involved. Years later, as he prepares to leave Kalos in search of deeper truths about Mega Evolution, Sycamore comes face to face with what remains of the past, and chooses, once again, to move forward.

Or, a biography thing of Professor Sycamore from his childhood all the way to Legends ZA because why not

    Summary

They did not call it a game at first. It was an experiment.

By their standards, it was a simple construct. A closed world with a finite population, and a rule set designed to narrow possibility until only conflict remained: three lives with no escape. Scarcity would do the rest. It always did.

They watched the world spin into being—crude, bright, and uncomplicated. It was a world of grass, stone, sand and trees that did not know they would burn.

Players woke with no memory of arrival, only a faint, instinctive certainty that death mattered now.

The Life Series was never a game, but an experiment designed to strip players down to fear, conflict and obedience. Again and again, the Watchers refine their cruelty, only to be thwarted by players who refuse to break. From Grian's instinctive defiance to Martyn's resistance to erasure, each season contains anomalies the system can't fully contain. Then as the Listeners emerge and the Watchers slowly lose control, it becomes clear that the experiment is no longer one-sided.

    Summary

They built the platform together, five figures working in uneasy cooperation as an X-shaped arena took form over stone and shadow. A single block-high wall traced the arena, and it was just enough to pretend there were boundaries. More stalagmites were placed deliberately at the bottom, sharp and merciless, reminders that even survival here required precision.

When it was finished, Martyn took his place at the center. The others spread out along the arms of the X, weapons drawn and armour gleaming. Martyn felt the imbalance immediately—not just spatially, but symbolically. He had always been in the middle of things like this. Between roles, between narratives, between remembering and forgetting.

Now, the Watchers murmured, not aloud but everywhere at once.

    The fight began.

As the world advances and forgets its past, Martyn remembers every version it leaves behind. At the Square Hole, Martyn wins the final fight by surviving both the fight and the cycle of time. He is claimed again by the Watchers, but the Listeners intervene once more, and Martyn is offered something rarer—the chance to remember, and belong.

    Summary

When Scar finally forced himself to turn around, Scott’s body was already gone. Gem stood frozen where he’d been, staring at her own hands as her health surged upward.

Pearl stood beside Scar, exhaling slowly through her nose, like she was holding herself together by sheer force of will. Her shoulders were tight, her jaw locked, but when she spoke her voice was even. “Okay. Now, it’s us.”

Gem swallowed. Her knuckles were white as her grip tightened around her sword again, and it looked like she was going to say something, but she paused, and all that came out was “I didn’t want it like that.”

Scar let out a laugh that scraped its way out of his chest, sharp and brittle, and dragged a hand through his hair. “Nobody ever does.”

Despite winning Secret Life, the Watchers still refuse to let Scar go. Trapped in a world that keeps rewarding him for surviving, he spirals through guilt, hallucinations, and the crushing certainty that winning cost him everyone else. After days (? Scar couldn't remember how long it's been), he is finally released back to Hermitcraft, where he talks with a very real Grian and Pearl.

    Summary

“Doesn’t matter if you’re a Mean Gill, a Bad Boy, a Neighbour, or a Clocker—” Martyn hissed, his voice dripping with venom, “You’re all going down. None of these niceties, this is a death match for a reason! Ohhhh, it feels so good. Time is delicious!”

The warmth of Impulse’s blood stained Martyn’s hands, but Martyn didn’t feel satisfaction. It was just…emptiness. The hunger still remained.

But in that moment, Martyn couldn’t stop.

As Impulse’s breath left his body, his chest tightened.

    What had he done?

Martyn betrays his only ally and murders Impulse to secure his Limited Life win, only to regret it shortly after. He wanders the ruins of the server, haunted by the weight of his choices and the relentless ticking of time. Claimed by the Watchers, Martyn is eventually dragged into the void—only for another force to intervene and offer something the game never did.

    Summary

Spring had come to the forest without asking permission.

Pearl noticed it in fragments first. The air smelled wrong—green and sharp, like crushed leaves and thawing earth. The breeze carried more pollen than snow. When she shifted her weight, the ground beneath her boots didn’t crunch. Instead, it gave, soft and quiet, damp soil yielding like it was glad to be stepped on.

Pearl laughed. It burst out of her chest, light and breathless, echoing strangely through the clearing. The sound startled her dogs, and they looked up at her, ears perked, tails wagging uncertainly.

“Look at that,” she said, spinning slowly in place, axe loose in her hands. “Spring.”

Pearl wins Double Life, killing Cleo and losing Martyn before Scott chooses death to give her the win. When she arrives on Hermitcraft after the Watchers greet her in the void, Pearl runs from everyone. When she finally speaks to Grian and Scott, she understands that surviving doesn't mean being okay.

    Summary

His gaze drifted, traitorous, toward the window. Snow fell in careful, deliberate flakes over the rebuilt square, softening the sharp geometry of construction barriers and half-finished storefronts. Strings of lights glowed warmly, their reflections trembling in puddles that hadn’t quite frozen over yet.

It was beautiful, but god, was it also exhausting.

And somewhere, threading through the back of his mind like a splinter he couldn’t quite reach, was the knowledge that Lumberman would be here tonight.

Tom swallowed. He hadn’t planned for that thought to hit so hard. It had been months since the meteor—months since that breathless moment by the truck when everything else had narrowed down to heat, noise, and a hand in his. Months of rebuilding, of coordination calls and shared logistics, of carefully maintained distance that felt safer than examining what still lingered between them.

Or, there's a party in the Town Hall. Tom doesn't want to go because it means putting on a fake face and seeing Lumberman, the man who he basically confessed his love to months ago. Tom and Lumberman talk during the party, almost kiss, go home together, and actually kiss.

    Summary

    The woods fell still.

The night swallowed the echo of Ren’s fall, leaving Scott alone among torn earth and broken trees. Victory didn’t wash over him. Only the hollow, sinking weight of what survival had cost.

He walked forward on unsteady legs and knelt beside Ren’s body. Ren’s sword lay nearby, faintly glowing with an enchantment.

Scott’s chest tightened. “Sorry,” he whispered.

    No answer.

He stayed there a long moment as the enormity of the win pressed into him. It didn’t feel right. Not when so much of it had been luck. Randomness. Violence he never wanted.

Scott manages to win Last Life, winning through reluctant violence rather than triumph. After his meeting with the Watchers, he is forced to carry the memories of the games while also dealing with his own problems on Empires. He reunites with Grian, and they both realise the games aren't over yet.

    Summary

“Scar,” Grian said, voice thin from exhaustion. “I think… no matter what happens, we can count this as a double victory, right?”

Scar puffed out a breath, trying for a laugh that came out more like a wheeze. “Yes I—we are, we are all good!”

Grian wanted to believe him. He wanted to believe there was still some version of them out there somewhere that wasn’t soaked in blood and dust.

    The torch flames flickered.

Scar lifted his chin, a smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth—the bravado of a man who had nothing left to give but spirit. Somewhere beyond them, the ghosts of the server—those who had already lost—seemed to whisper in the wind, counting them in.

Grian’s chest squeezed painfully. He couldn’t breathe.

“Ready?” Scar asked, softening the question with a lopsided grin. “This is it. Our grand finale.”

Grian endures 3rd Life—a new game set by the Watchers. After jumping to his death, the Watchers welcome him in the void. He wakes up on the Hermitcraft server to Scar and Xisuma worrying over him, and Grian realises that this is the beginning of a long game.
