Summary
Moira was usually very good at reading people. Or, rather, she was good at reading their patterns. Even with strangers, it only took a few moments to understand how they were structured. Everyone she had ever come across could fit into a nice little box in her head, in which she could organize them just so. From there, she would change her expression, adjust her tone, and twist her personality to be the best version of herself depending on who she was speaking with. Everyone got a different piece of Moira to make things as easy as possible.
Decades had gone into mastering the art, and yet...
Her inability to read Odessa was infuriating.

Moira was good at reading people. Or, rather, she was good at patterns. She could change her expression, change her tone, change her personality to be the best version of herself depending on who she was speaking with. Even with strangers, it only took a few moments to understand their patterns. Everyone fit into a nice little box that she could organize and wear her best face for.
She could not, however, read the woman before her.
And it was obnoxious.

A genetic imperative is, among other definitions, the drive to pass on one's own genetic code-- to have their own biological offspring, so to speak. This behavior is theorized to be exhibited by humans in the exclusivity of many human sexual relationships, also known as monogamy. The urge to spread one's genes is postulated by some to be an involuntary and unconscious biological drive. And so how could one Overwatch doctor expect to be immune, really?
