It would have been over a decade ago now, only a little after they’d joined the same team. Maxie had been assigned to the lab and Archie to field work, but you wouldn’t know it if not for their different uniforms. The sight of Archie lingering around the lab space was just as familiar as Maxie appearing at Archie’s side during his off shifts.
Maxie didn’t take a second glance when Archie flopped himself down in his office swivel chair, continuing his work. He peered into his microscope, talking back to Archie.

Summary
After nearly ending the world, Team Aqua and Team Magma have committed themselves to cleaning up their own mess, rebranding as environmental conservatisms. When May alerts Maxie and Archie to strange mega crystal growth that's harming the local Pokemon population, they make good on their word by helping her solve the source problem, and make good on their word to work together from now on. reminding them of their less scornful past together.
Meanwhile, Maxie and Archie subtly start parenting May as they worry about her taking the world on her shoulders alone, as May unknowingly has a plot of her own. -

Now that they're dating, the truce between Team Aqua and Team Magma is official, and they just can't stand to be away from each other for long.
Matt misses his bro. Archie has been spending so much time with Maxie, and it's making Matt feel neglected! Of course, everyone forgot to tell him that Archie and Maxie are a couple, so to him, Archie has found a new best bro and he has been replaced. After Archie misses their weekly Saturday night game night (for a big muscular guy that probably gets stereotyped as a himbo, Matt likes board games! Even if he frequently loses), Matt has had enough.
He must put a stop to this madness!!!
