Eddie had seen a few attractive vendors over the years and he always made a point of making an impression. He didn't necessarily plan to take them home or anything, but he didn't like missing opportunities when they presented themself. He wasn't really the type to get emotionally involved with anyone, but that didn't mean he didn't have his fun. Sure, he had his types, but he wasn't ashamed to call himself easy if someone else approached him first. He wasn't all too picky, either. If they caught his eye, they were fair game, man, woman, or other alike.
Right now, he was thoroughly enchanted by this tasty new morsel in his domain. He spun and tugged at his left lip ring as he stared, watching a lock of the man's dense brown hair fall and lightly bounce in front of his sculpted face.

Eddie Munson, who died two months ago.
Steve stares.
Rubs his fists into his eyes, smacks his palms against his own cheeks, blinks.
And Eddie is still there, very much not dead. Very alive looking for someone who Steve had dragged out of the Upside Down only to have bleed out in his arms before the ambulance could get there.
“Hiya, Harrington,” Eddie greets, smiling widely. “Gonna invite me in?”

Or, Eddie survived and Steve definitely doesn't have any repressed feelings (and a goddamn well of survivors guilt) for him, nope, no he does not. If only Eddie would just leave him alone to sort those totally non-existent repressed feelings in peace, but he's fucking everywhere.

Steve had to leave Hawkins. It was always going to happen.
Doesn't matter that he was the last out of nearly everybody he knew to leave the city. Doesn't matter that he helped every single one of them pack. Doesn't matter that he drove all his friends to the airport, or wished all the kids good luck before their way off.
But Steve was a carpenter in Chicago now. It was nothing crazy, but it was good work and he was happy with his life. Finally.
OR,
Nancy and Jonathan are getting married, and Steve returns to Hawkins after a very, very long time avoiding even the thought of that horrible place.
