Summary
His finger throbbed, blood beading at the junction where tan skin met broken keratin. The miniscule crimson droplets were barely visible in the umbra of night. Well, whatever passed as night on the castle ship. The ship had an automatic day-night cycle but Lance still found that the days melted into one another like gummy bears dissolving under the hot Cuban sun. The memory had him unconsciously picking at another cuticle. This time, he bent back the white corner at the tip of his index finger. Bending and pushing, weakening the hard shell - but never breaking it.
Hot and guilty against the cool night air, something sticky and acidic burnt through his gut. Lance wanted to puke. He wanted to punch himself in the stomach. To slam his head against the bedroom wall till only the physical pain remained. Maybe that would get rid of the buzzing in his veins, his bones, his brain.

Lance is a homesick, insecure mess and he just wants Keith to be okay but doesn't feel like he's doing enough. Also, he's a nail biter.
Set during season 3, when Keith is leader but Keith and Lance are dating because I needed something to justify how sappy they act in this fic
