Summary
In the silver light of Telperion, a brittle silence hung between two half-brothers in a private study, until the carefully maintained distance between them, the distance of propriety, of a lifetime of estrangement, collapsed.
The words tore out of Ñolofinwë before he could stop them. “I have watched you because it was the only way I was permitted to know you. You were a comet with a tail of fire and grief, and I was the child left standing on the observatory hill, told only to be grateful for the glimpse. You were my brother, and you were a stranger. The only thing you ever offered was your contempt.”
“Contempt,” Fëanáro whispered, his gaze tracing the lines of Ñolofinwë’s face with an unnerving, almost tactile focus. “Is that what you thought it was?” He lifted a hand, hesitated, and then touched his fingertips to Ñolofinwë’s cheek. “Oh, no, half-brother. It was never contempt. I built around myself, a fire so high and so hot that no one could come near, and you, fool that you are, kept walking towards it. Year after year, with your calm, steady eyes. I wanted to hate you. Eru help me, I tried. But the fire… the fire only ever wanted to draw you in.”

Summary
Fingolfin should be ashamed of himself, at how little it matters, how and why he won this bout – but shame is nothing compared to this: holding, finally, the Fire he spent his life pursuing.
*
In which the Noldor are still cursed, someone will walk the Ice and someone will lose a hand in Angband, except the brothers are romancing each other in all the wrong ways. Will their end be fair, at the end of the long, hard road?
(More relationships and tags may be added as I go, I am still considering Aredhel/Celegorm. Russingon is more of an intense ace bromance.
For Fëanor/Fingolfin, they have a huge age gap, never lived in the same house, and barely recognize each other as brothers.)Bookmarked by Bayla89

Summary
Benítez tilts his head a fraction closer, conspiratorial. “It’s a pity our devices have been confiscated for the time that we’re sequestered here. I would’ve suggested sneaking off to exchange more music recommendations since you’ve demonstrated taste.”
“Dally any longer, and I fear that neither of us will be in anyone’s good graces,” Thomas replies as Ray sweeps past them. “But I would’ve…” He glances furtively at Benítez; for an instant, it’s the thrill of misbehaving at seminary again. “I would’ve liked that.”
“There’s a computer in the office.”
“We’d have to cross Sister Agnes.”
“Ah. Never mind that idea, then.”
Oh, the things I would’ve liked had we been young men together, Thomas thinks wistfully as they approach the dining room. I would’ve liked you.

Summary
“You are not well,” Salvador returns. “You are overflowing with…” he pauses to search for the word and he finds it, “grief. You’re grieving. It has hollowed you out.”
“I have nothing to grieve for.”
“You’re lying, Thomas.”
