“Mmm, a question first.” Golden eyes are roving over Edwin, from face to hands to chest to hips and back again, slit pupils widening to deep black pools. “What happens to your clothes when you take them off? Since as I understand ghostly clothing, you manifest what you wear out of your own spectral energy, right?”
He looks up at Edwin through his lashes, lips parted enticingly. “Let me tell you what I think. You manifest clothes from your own energy. They’re part of you. Even if they're not on you.” His fingertips idly trace over the edges of the robe, then down to draw slow lines along the silk covering his thighs. It’s very distracting.
Edwin’s voice catches, breathy as he replies. “That is an interesting hypothesis.” And it is interesting, he just can’t quite focus his thoughts past the vision of the Cat King half-dressed in front of him to figure out why. He senses the impending trap closing around him, though he cannot see the shape of it. But is it truly a trap if he has no desire to escape?
“As to what that might mean…” Burning gold eyes drop to Edwin's throat. “Take off the bowtie, sweetheart.”

“You’re a classic, aren’t you?”
Of all the descriptions the Cat King has given Edwin, a classic is not one of them. "I'm not quite sure what you mean."
"It's nothing bad to be, not in the slightest," the Cat King says, earnest. "You appreciate the way things are and the way they were, seeing the beauty in both sides. You probably got a bunch of first editions back home- Oscar Wilde, Allen Poe, all the best of the Lake Poets." He shifts forward on his knees to where Edwin sits, brings himself just an inch closer to the space between his legs. "Think Art Noveau, letters written by candlelight instead typed up in telegrams, dances in ballrooms instead of old clubs.”
The look in his eyes, the admiration, now Edwin sees where it’s familiar. The fascination, from that cursed first night- drawn out by Edwin doing nothing but being himself. “There’s just nothing like you anymore.”

In other words, the CatWin season two where the Cat King ditches an Endless-sentenced exile in PT to chase after a second chance, Edwin meets him again for the first time on his side of the sea, and what they find is more than any mere fascination. I miss my idiots way too much.

Summary
A certain ghost shows up in Port Townsend, without his memory, his friends, or any idea how he got there. What's a Cat King to do?
The Cat King slips up to Edwin’s side and catches his hand, tugging him around playfully with a smile. “Hey, sweetheart, you look seriously lost in thought. What brings you to town?”
Edwin flinches hard at the touch, whipping around and yanking his hand free with a ferocious glare. Taking several steps back, shoulders ruler-straight, he snaps out, “Excuse me? I’ll thank you to be a little less familiar.”
The Cat King freezes, wide-eyed and confused and trying to decide whether to be pissed off, because what the fuck. “Edwin?”
Edwin stills, too, angry glare lessening to a slightly less angry glare accompanied by a raised eyebrow and slightly tilted head as he eyes the Cat King up and down with none of the usual poorly-veiled appreciation. “Do I know you?”
Ohhh, this isn’t good. Every animal and magical instinct the Cat King has is screaming that something is very, very wrong here. Magically wrong.
