Summary
"I think that’s enough.” Zuko announced after another claimed victory; and in spite of having met the ground once again, Sokka protested against it. “No! Let's go again!” He’d already gotten back on his feet, but his sparring partner had been reluctant to continue, partly due to his own pride and wanting to preserve some of his friend's dignity.
He’d already tucked one of his swords in its sheath when Sokka had started grumbling something about showing him how things were done down South; their audience hadn’t stopped cheering, and Toph excitedly held the sign depicting a doodled representation of Zuko upside down.
The match seemed to have finally ended until—
The puppy eyes.

Summary
Zuko didn’t visit much because he could see how ugly and incomplete she was now, beneath the makeup and the flames and the orders. Everyone was still afraid of her, that’s why she’s restrained and dirty and hardly gets any sunlight, like a dying houseplant.
Then why did she fail?
It must’ve been her mother, she must have secretly spoke to Zuko through secret letters and codes because he was the good son and could be saved still, because Azula needed to go down and bring the badness with her. Ursa must be proud of her good boy, so she should haunt his days instead of hers; because Azula had never been her mother’s girl.

Summary
He wants a lot of things because he’s a greedy man, like any good rich guy with one too many gray hairs. “You’ll end up ruining it if you keep at it.” It’s not about the suit, really, it’s about being the sort of man any woman would want to have and still, Alastor has that affect on him; it’s about the dreams.
So he keeps at it out of spite, even if it would ultimately come down to the fact that he ruined a nice turquoise blazer because he felt childish. He scrubs until the fibers start to show, muttering curses under his breath; if only he hadn’t been so desperate for approval, if only he hadn’t started seeing men in this perverted way ever since the host came into his life.
Alastor, tired of leaning on the wall, walks like the most sophisticated thing on Earth toward him, his nice shoes clicking neatly against the unflattering floor. The man’s hand travels up to his chin when he’s close enough, slowly turning it to face him; and then it’s as if he’s under the spell again, having lost all control of himself when Alastor starts speaking. “Leave it, Vincent.“
“..I was getting bored of it anyway.“
-------
Alastor likes control, Vincent hates not having it.
