“Barack Obama in 2015. No idea what, maybe a warning.” Is Phil’s first answer. “Myself in 2012, maybe. I could do what that etymology guy’s doing right now.”
“You could do it now, too.”
Phil rolls his eyes. “Well, now it’d be copying. I could do a segment, maybe, but then that’s two segments.”

Keating always knew the right thing to say. It came from a place of being well read, well educated, and filled to the brim with understanding and empathy. He loved all his students, and tried his damn hardest to understand where all of them came from, why they were the way they were. Neil, who had never had an older person actively decode his behaviors, wants, and needs, immediately fell under the spell most of Keating’s students do.
