Sasuke asks Naruto to reconsider his volume during a detention as he’s leaving the Academy.
After a checklist of dubious morals, screaming directly into someone’s face, a guest appearance from The Great Void of Handy Plot-Required Items™ and two ANBU too busy with each other to stop this disaster before it’s too late, Naruto finds himself dating Sasuke as the Canon Train rams headfirst into the Apocalypse and disappears into the sunset never to be seen again.
Naruto is trying to get Sakura to love him. Sasuke just wants a break from his fangirls so he can be a traumatised child in peace. If either of these two pipsqueaks had a handy-dandy adult to guide them then this mess probably would have never happened. But they don’t. So it did.
Jiraiya is totally going to write the shit out of this once he finds out it’s happening.

Summary
Severus Snape was a great man, an exceptional man. But he was not a good one.
Just a short little look at the character of canon!Severus Snape, whom I absolutely adore, and I think that he is criminally wasted in canon by his lack of self-growth and how he was smothered in all of his past issues. He could have been so good for Harry, could have been a link to his mum and a counterbalance to all of the 'James, James, you're definitely only here to be copy of your father and not have any of your mother's traits or to be your own person' nonsense; Severus could have been such a support and anchor to Harry, could have shown him that not everything rosy and its ok if it's /not/, he could have provided such a neat stepping stone for Harry to break through the house segregation and discrimination and have more friends than just Ron and Hermione, for all that I'm fond of them.
But instead we get this giant goth adult-shaped toddler who breaks everything in his eternal temper tantrum because of reasons, and it thoroughly irritates me because of all the wasted potential. God, just imagine the series if Severus had been an actual goddamned person instead of a villain stereotype/plot device/convenient placeholder. Urgh. -
