Summary
Thorfinn and co. are on their way to raise funds for their Vinland expedition, however things go differently during Thorfinn's negotiations with Halfdan. In this timeline, he arrives on another's doorsteps to seek help, which might have a bigger impact on Thorfinn as a person and not only.

Summary
The banquet was long over, but the room still smelled faintly of spiced wine and candles. Servants had cleared the plates, the fire was low, and most guests had either stumbled out drunk or been ushered to bed by aides more sober than they were. Canute remained — perched on the edge of his throne like it was just another chair, one leg slung over the other, wine glass dangling from his fingers.
Thorfinn leaned against the far wall, arms crossed, pretending not to watch him.

He couldn’t think, couldn’t breathe right — not with the slow, deep rhythm Thorfinn had locked them into. Canute groaned at the stretch, melting into the feeling of fullness but helpless to fight off his frustrations.“You’re still—still going slow,” Canute gasped out between moans, lips brushing Thorfinn’s scarred ear.
“I’m not trying to finish,” Thorfinn murmured, and thrust hard — just once, deep enough to pull a cry from Canute’s throat.
“F-fuck, Thorfinn—!”
“You’re so loud. I barely have to touch you.”
Canute’s legs twitched around his waist, drawing him in. “Shut up."
