Riley didn’t need help, those compulsions are only a matter of safety. Zoe could always go back to a real job, even if it sucked the soul out of her. Pomni could support her channel all on her own. And Suzie could ignore being berated.
Until their worlds collide, and they realize being together isn’t all that bad.

Summary
After the circus ends, Gangle seems happier at first. She smiles more, makes plans, and insists she's doing great.
The problem: she's not. Without the physical comedy masks she used in the circus, she doesn't know how to explain her emotions anymore. She starts bottling everything up until one day she completely breaks down in public.
Zooble is the one who finds her. The twist is that Zooble has no idea how to comfort someone. They try logic, jokes, leaving, coming back, leaving again. Nothing works. Eventually they stop trying to "fix" Gangle and just stay with her while she cries.
Meanwhile Zooble is secretly struggling too. Everyone assumes they're handling things fine because they always acted detached in the circus.
