Stanley ya lo había escuchado una vez, aunque no recordaba bien si fue durante una clase de historia, una explicación de Xeno que le pasó por encima de la cabeza, acostumbrado a sus desvarios constantes en los que solía sumirse; o si lo escuchó de algún poema. Fuese como fuese, conocía el significado de aquellas flores mejor que el de ninguna otra, un dato marcado en su cabeza con un hierro al rojo vivo: "recuerdo y sacrificio".
Recordaba, de forma vaga, que estas flores eran las primeras en nacer después de una guerra, entre las tumbas de los caídos. Se suponía que era una analogía a los tiempos de paz que iniciaban después de una tragedia. Pero, a pesar de saber esto, Stanley no podía dejar de atormentarse por la vívida imagen de aquellas flores emergiendo del pecho sangrante de cierto capitán codicioso ni tampoco podía dejar de reprocharse como había sido él quien plantó estas flores en primer lugar.

I'd be doing you a disservice if I pretended otherwise."
Now:
"You told me, first year of high school, that emotional needs were a structural weakness in sorcerers."
"I was fifteen—"
"You have never, in the seventeen years I have known you, made someone eat miso at nine PM." Shoko looked at Gojo steadily. "What you've been isn't 'considerate.' What you've been is—" she picked up her coffee— "Satoru-shaped lovey-dovey." She drank. "Karma."
He wanted very much to argue with this. He had no arguments.

“Did you see everything you needed to see,” Enjin taunts. His eyes lid in that cocky way they do when he teases. Fu has seen him do it with nearly everyone else, but no one else is here. It’s for him only, right now. It feels good. It feels nice.
“No! I, I mean, well, I didn’t mean it like that, I was just, um…” Fu fiddles with the hem of his shirt, anxious and sweating and wishing he wasn’t so him.
“You wanna look some more, then,” Enjin finishes for him. It’s not that he doesn’t want to look some more. He’d like to do a lot more than a mere look if he could, but he can’t because he won’t because he’s not going to make the first move no matter how badly his fingers ache to touch; and besides, he’s Fu of all people. He’s not really a catch, even with—especially with—his self-sabotaging desire to do and say and be as he’s told.
You really are a coward.
“Yeah,” Fu whimpers in response to Hii before he realizes that he’s also, in a way, responding to Enjin.
