“M’ not looking to publish, Price —”
“Send it, Simon,” Price insisted, that gleam turning into something entirely too serious. It was that unyielding type of faith Price had in him, the kind that made Simon think he could do impossible things. He’d spent years as a sniper, an assassin, a ghost on the field, but this — something so vulnerable and fragile, a peek at the childhood Simon had endured, was probably the most frightening of all.
And so, without having any idea of what he was doing, Simon sent it.

Summary
It was quiet for less than thirty minutes before the sounds of the humans returned, this time an awkward scramble of many footsteps and nearly as many voices. They came into view only a moment later, and his eyes widened at the sight of the large blue tarp-thing hung between two poles being carried by more than a dozen humans, each straining under the obvious weight.
A massive caudal fin hung from one end of the tarp, but it had been so heavily wrapped in soaked towels to keep it from drying out that it was impossible to see in any real detail. It was also, Johnny noticed with sudden unease, completely, utterly limp.

He wasn't ready to be a civilian again. The idea filled him with dread until his stomach turned, the vast wide open future of nothing. So he signed his name again, and again, and again, a different, more exciting kind of dread settling in his bones at what he was really agreeing to, and packed his bags.
Made a friend and got a flatmate on the same day, in the same person. Bought his boat a month later.
And met him.
Soap enjoys his new life, especially since he spends considerable time getting to know Ghost, a shark-human hybrid captured and kept for study who won't let anyone close enough to do that. Aside from Soap, that is.

Summary
Ghost didn’t know when he got it into his head that Johnny was his.
It might have been in Las Almas or Chicago. Maybe it was on the morning runs they shared, never verbally planned, but each of them falling into step as the sun made its gloomy appearance over the horizon. Maybe it was the number of times Soap had put on the kettle when they returned, and while he sat in the little dilapidated rec room and waited for Soap to make coffee, the Scot puttered about and made him a strong cup of Earl Grey as well (and just the way he liked it, too). Maybe it was on other missions, banter flying as fast as bullets, Soap’s accent lilting in his ear over comms.
Maybe it was their thighs pressed flush together during debriefs, or the long looks his sergeant sometimes gave him, when he thought Ghost wasn’t looking.
Maybe, maybe, there were too many instances of closeness for Ghost to count- though he’d tried. He’d tried almost desperately to pinpoint the precise moment he’d looked at Soap and thought mine, an all-consuming lance of possessiveness better suited for two people who were actually in a relationship washing over him.
Or; Ghost finds that he's fallen in love with Johnny. What a predicament.

Summary
They both know what’s coming.
It’s not here yet, but it’s circling. Close.
Ghost finally pulled his hood down. Unzipped his jacket. He stayed standing by the desk, still as anything.
“Last chance to back out.”
Soap snorted.
“Don’t be thick.”
Ghost didn’t look away.
“I mean it.”
Soap leaned back on his elbows.
“So do I.”

Summary
"Gaz was completely fucked over being head over heels for his commander. He will die with that fact, though, concealed as much as Ghost's knife—the bloke has mentioned at least a dozen times now how they were a birthdate gift set from Soap. Bloody twats, having the undeserved grace to keep their love so underwrapped that they have the audacity to flaunt it in front of his face. He remembered gritting his teeth so much they were sore later on. Gaz would rather it be sore from other means by which he could service his captain."
Or what happen when Kyle finds out about John's failling vision.

Summary
John tucks his nose into the crook of Simon’s neck, cold against the fabric of his mask, and Simon can only hold him tighter, letting his own scent wash away every trace of the other alpha.
“Johnny.”
The name comes unbidden to his lips, Simon able to feel the shiver that wracks Soap’s body, the goosebumps that prickle his skin. John’s fingers tighten in his shirt, warm breath against the cloth at Simon’s neck. He’s so close, the scent of him soothing over Simon’s own skin like a balm to the ache that lives buried deep inside of him.
He knows he should say something, do something, but he’s frozen, rooted to the spot.
Johnny is his best friend. His best fucking friend in the entire world and while he knows the man won’t speak on what happened tonight, Simon is offering whatever comfort he can.
But maybe it’s not his to offer. Maybe the reason Johnny went out tonight is because he’s looking for something.

Summary
Ghost’s been here before. Many times. After the worst flashbacks, he ends up in front of a mirror, staring into his own haunted eyes, a gun trembling in his hand. The barrel pressed against his temple feels like the answer, but he can never pull the trigger. It should be easy—his training taught him to shoot without hesitation. But when it’s his own life on the line, his finger freezes. He can’t explain why. He doesn’t want to think about it too long.
Some nights, he whispers to himself. Pleads.
“Please… please, let me die. Please.”
But the cold steel always slips from his grasp, landing on the counter.

Summary
Despite his reputation as a hotheaded demolition’s expert, Soap actually considered himself a pretty laid back guy–so how he’d managed to end up in a squeaky barracks bed, pounding into his superior officer, was beyond him.
It wasn’t a conscious decision, but six months ago, after Chicago, when Ghost had cornered him against a hotel mattress and rode him like his life depended on it–Soap never had a second thought. Anyone would be foolish to push away a man as gorgeous as Ghost, and Soap never considered himself foolish.

Summary
Ghost is a werewolf, Soap has lost a bet with Gaz, and Halloween is right around the corner.
"Right, that's enough of that you fuckin' moppets," Price snapped. The sound of his exasperated voice was enough to plant Soap's arse back in his seat. It wasn't a graceful capitulation, not with the two-fingered salute he sent in Garrick's direction, but it did mark the end of whatever that little exchange was.
And as irritating as that near-disaster was, it left Ghost curious.
Because whatever those two had planned, it involved him somehow, and with Halloween a week away? Knowing that Soap would be holding up his end of a lost bet with Garrick?
Ghost knew it couldn't be anything good.
