This wasn’t the first time he had heard Niki leaving the connected room they shared and be gone for hours...and considering every possibility that crossed James' dramatic imagination, seeing the Austrian seated on the cornice was a relief.

Summary
This one is based upon a part on one of the columns James wrote for AUTOSPORT magazine about a gathering at a private residence of the King of Spain on June 1978:
"We spent a delightful Saturday evening at the private residence of the King of Spain. His Royal Highness, Juan Carlos, is a keen racing buff and asked his old friend Jackie Stewart to invite a few of us along to dinner […] Princess Helena, who recently suffered a nasty accident when her ponytail got caught in the sprocket of her go-kart and virtually scalped her, became an instant Niki Lauda fan after he had consoled her by saying, ‘you look almost as bad as me’. Up to that time, the poor girl had been so embarrassed by her injury that she hadn’t wanted to be seen in public."

Like when the drivers went on strike and slept in mattresses in a room together, except its 1976 and James is there. He’s getting -touchy feely- with niki who obviously has to try his hardest to remain quiet. Please could you fill this for me? :) thank you! X

The gun stayed like that, mere inches apart from James' temple, immobile, for minutes that seemed like hours to Niki.
He only had to pull the trigger and everything would end.
Much to Niki's dread, he couldn't

He liked James' smile, how it pulled at the corners of his eyes and showed perfect teeth but not as perfect as his glinting eyes. It made him stupidly happy that he was the cause of said smile.
He should find cars for James more often.
