Summary
Stiles is sitting on the couch with a box full of cereal (a mouth full of cereal) when the doorbell rings. The fact that someone has chosen to ring the bell is of itself strange enough, because his father is not home so he is not expecting anyone official – and Scott always just opens the door like it’s his own house and Derek uses Stiles’ bedroom window.

Summary
They had never made it official, a thing, never labeled what it was exactly that was between them - that they were dating or fuck buddies or that they simply enjoyed each other’s company. They had never sat down and talked about it, had The Talk, and Stiles hadn’t really wanted to either. He didn’t know what his feelings were on the matter, other than that he liked being near Derek and liked that he didn’t see Derek touching anyone else the same way that Derek touched Stiles, and Derek didn’t seem interested in finding someone else to touch either.
So it had been a quiet thing, if anything at all.

Summary
Stiles is very quickly learning that when Derek said “road trip” he very literally meant the definition of road trip. As in, trip by road. In a car. On the road in the direct manner where endless stretches of highways are involved and too many trees blurring past Stiles’ growing apathetic gaze. Stiles never thought that he could actually become so sick of trees and it's only Day One so Stiles is quite sure that he is never stepping into the Beacon Hills Preserve ever again after this trip.

Summary
Derek is smiling, soft and faint, like Stiles has actually said something good. He’s all slender grace and easy confidence when he sways into Stiles’ space and curls his hand against the back of Stiles’ head. And Stiles realizes a little too late what Derek intends to do until he is already leaning in and kissing him soundly on the mouth. It’s just warm pressure and dry brush of lips but it’s enough to make Stiles freeze where he is standing, right in the middle of everyone, and stare a little dazedly at the blurred lights spinning around them when Derek pulls away.

Summary
There are times when Stiles’ brain tells him to do funny things – not pull a face or pretend to mimic a human slinky – but stupid things that are probably embarrassing on a completely different level.

Summary
He looks up at Derek, a little desperately. Because Derek may not speak often and Stiles may talk too much but he isn’t any good with words either. Only he lets them spill recklessly from his mouth more often than not, without a thought of how they may sound or what sentences they may form. But this is important now, always important with Derek and Stiles doesn’t know how to tell him.

Summary
Stiles wakes up agitated one morning. It’s not due to anything he can discernly place, but it’s there: itching at the ridges of his spine, spreading through his shoulders, right beneath the skin, like something physical and tangible but he cannot reach, cannot tear off that layer of flesh and dig beneath into the tendons and grasp with his fingers and pull it out.
Derek seems to notice the slightly more than usual twitch in Stiles’ bones, the way he can’t seem to sit still while eating and the way he stiffens whenever Derek tries to touch him. But Derek doesn’t say anything, just lets the back of his knuckles linger against Stiles’, tries to soothe the agitation from his skin by faint touch and Stiles wishes that he could reciprocate, he does. Because this is Derek and Derek understands in ways most people do not and they are returning back home soon and then this is all going to be over.

Summary
Stiles swallows.
“You can touch, if you want to.” He hears himself say, hopes that his voice does not sound as shaky as he feels. He meets Derek's gaze. “I want that too, you know. I want that and I don't want you to be scared that I don't anymore. Because I do. If you still want me.”
Derek’s eyes are dark beneath his brow, drawn down tight. His hands curl against the painted walls.

Summary
“I called my dad this morning,” Stiles begins. He regards the carnival lights in the distance, the slowly moving Ferris wheel. He can feel Derek’s eyes moving over the side of his face. “I thought I’d tell him what happened, you know? What with-“ he gestures at the encompassment of his face and throat, a small vague movement. “I just thought it’d be better to let tell him now, without having him see it first and then me having to explain it all.”
Derek doesn't respond right away and when he does his voice sounds oddly calm, accepting, as if he has readied himself to compliantly receive whatever Stiles is about to tell him.
“What did he say?”
