Summary
Loki watches as Thor kneels before his father, kneels at the base of Hliðskjálf to accept the crown. His golden brother fits among the warriors in the hall and, though Loki would like to be in that position himself, is only jealous for a moment. It passes without more than a blink of his eyes, because he knows that it is not his place to want the crown. His place is with Thor, yes, but at his side, not on the throne.

Summary
Loki remembers first seeing Thor from behind his mother's skirts on his fifth birthday. Thor was eight was full of energy and power and strength, even as young as he was, and for a moment Loki was frightened of this towheaded boy that his mother told him was his brother. Loki remembers that the first thing he noticed aside from the whirlwind energy was that he had eyes as blue as the water that surrounded Asgard.

Summary
Loki is not normally one to have opinions about places that he has to remain in order to carry out his plans, but for once, for once, this place is miserable and he can hardly stand waiting for his plans to come to fruition. If he wasn't who he was, he'd call the whole debacle off and lick his wounds somewhere far more conducive to someone of his - his constitution.

The mountains suit Loki. At least, living at the foot of them seems to suit him. The solitude allows him to practice the more arcane of his magics, as well as provide endless amounts of snow in the winter when he wants to traipse around in his proper skin and learn the ins and outs of his heritage.
